D tour: Rogue Wave's Search for a Kidney

Pat Spurgeon is a talented and professional musician who works hard to be where he is today. As a multi-instrumentalist, Pat is an integral part of the indie pop band Rogue Wave http://www.jambase.com/Artists/Artist.aspx?artistID=24131 . They have performed all over the world increasing their fan base with every tour and offering three critically-acclaimed albums and several singles.

Pat has every reason to be excited about his band's accomplishments, as well as their exciting future. In addition to giving the band everything he's got, Pat has had to deal with kidney failure and the parameters that have been set for him by his situation.

This is nothing new to Pat, as he's been dealing with his pre-existing condition most of his life. After the success of his first kidney transplant 13 years ago, the kidney started to fail just as Rogue Wave started to take off.

The upcoming feature documentary, D tour, http://dtourmovie.com/ , will chronicle Pat's search for a living organ donor and the challenges associated with finding a viable match. Pat's choice to keep touring and working toward the band's goals is put to the test; the absolute need to perform dialysis daily and to focus on his health became top priority while being on the road. D tour will also address issues with the health care system, the lack of affordable insurance, the importance of organ donation, plus much more.

The film features live performances from Ben Gibbard http://www.jambase.com/Artists/Artist.aspx?artistID=40045 (Death Cab for Cutie http://www.jambase.com/Artists/Artist.aspx?artistID=20223 ), Nada Surf http://www.jambase.com/Artists/Artist.aspx?artistID=32090 , Ryan Miller http://www.jambase.com/Artists/Artist.aspx?artistID=40068 , John Vanderslice http://www.jambase.com/Artists/Artist.aspx?artistID=31655 , The Moore Brothers http://www.jambase.com/Artists/Artist.aspx?artistID=35567 , and of course Rogue Wave.

D tour is in the final stages of production and will hopefully be premiering at a major film festival this year. The film has been a labor of love for the director Jim Granato, who has personally taken on all of the expenses to make this film a reality. A brand new song by Rogue Wave with Japonize Elephants called "Positive Hero Worship" is being offered as a free download to anyone who donates to the film (stream it for free here http://www.ilike.com/artist/D+tour+movie/track/Positive+Hero+Worship+by+Rogue+Wave+with+Japonize+Elephants ). Donations can be made at www.dtourmovie.com/donate, where fans can also find out more about the film and how to become an organ donor.
