I had my transplant in August 2007 from my mother. I've been great and I still feel great. I work out 5-6 times a week and lead a very active life. This new years I decided I would lose the fat that has been gathering around my midsection that wouldnt go away from weight training. I started running and a diet at the same time. The reason I say this is because thats the only thing I've done differently recently. Today I was horsing around with a 17yr old and we elbowed each other in the elbow... I know.. dumb and childish.. but thats who I am.

Anyway, his bone hit my muscle around my elbow and it hurt like hell. And then I felt a rush and woke up on the floor with carpet burn on my face. I was confused and disoriented. The 17yr old was laughing at me of course. he thought I was playing around still and said I was only down there for 10-15 seconds or so.

Anyway, I was hit on the arm with my old fistula and was wondering if anyone had any similar stories. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow for my annual checkup, so I don't have to make a special trip. But now I'm worried about my blood results. Last time I was perfect.

Always worth checking it out.  Had you had enough to eat, I can get dizzy or faint if I'm too hungry.  A severe pain  could also cause you to faint.  Don't get too worried, just get thoroughly checked.  Good luck.

I hope it was just the pain. it was similar to getting kicked in the shin. Hurt bad for about a minute or so.I can still feel it slightly. If its just that, I'll be very relieved.

I haven't needed to use my fistula for two years since my transplant and it seems like that arm is more sensitive than ever. I don't even like anyone to touch that arm. I wouldn't be surprised if I would react the same way if I took a hit like that - gives me the heebie-jeebies thinking about it. I would have it checked out at least for peace of mind.

Hi Jaybird.  I think you just hit your "funny bone" and it hurt so bad you passed out.
