well i have exactly 1 week left of dialysis. and i thought my last week would go by uneventfully. but unfortunately i had a front row seat today while someone had a heart attack on the machine. thankfully they are stable. apparently this patient asked his doctor if he can do exercises to loose wait and the doctor agreed. so the patient went for a 20 minute walk before dialysis. and had continually high b.p all morning.

surely nurses should not put someone on the machine if they are showing signs of distress or heart attack?

Congratulations Draven.  I'm assuming it's a living donor since it seems like you're scheduled to go.  I've had two previous kidney transplants (and waiting forever for a third) so if you have any questions about the procedure, feel free to ask.

Good luck and Godspeed.

Sad news i found out today that the elderly gentleman mentioned at the beginning of this topic passed away a few weeks ago.

his heart finally gave out. the dialysis proved to much for him.
