Hello fellow kidney failing people
I have diabetes and all the bad that seems to go with it. I lost a leg, I'm going blind and having laser surgery trying to save my sight and now my kidneys are going
my body is not happy with me. I'm going on peritoneal dialysis and had my cath implanted on Oct something 2008 I'm not big on remembering dates I live life one day at a time and try not to dwell on the past. If you need the dates I could look them up but I face things as they come and try not to look back. I have two children both grown one just got married and is pregnant with my first natural grandchild, (she has a best friend we have sortof adopted and her kids call me grandma
) cute as buttons both of them. My son is going to college and lives at home working part time and helps me around the house. I love life and family and playing games (wow) with my kids I love horses, dogs, ok most animals and lived on a farm when I was young. I answer all questions truthfully or not at all
if you need to know more just ask, I have a wacky sense of humor and laugh at most stuff cause crying is a drag (not that I don't shed a tear or two when called for) I also love scfi/fantasy books and movies. I do need people to talk to who are going through the same stuff as I am. Hope to converse with people here and get to know you and you me

Welcome to our community, Melinoir!!! I can see right away that you are definitely in the right place. You are obviously already an IHD type of person. I know that you are going to enjoy it here. We are doing the adopting now - you are now a part of our IHD family
Yes, diabetes can do some awful stuff, as many of us here can testify. But you just keep your laughter going! Please read as much as you can here, and post as much as you can. Looking forward to hearing lots from you

Hey peeps thanks for the replies, and so fast too. I just got out of the house and went Christmas shopping without my wheelchair!!!!!
I have been getting use to my fake leg and this was a stumble in the right direction... hehe my kids didn't have to haul my chair around, which is a royal pain in the butt. I am so glad some stores have the electric scooters as I am not ready to walk that much. I don't know about you guys but since my kidneys started failing I find I am bone cold all the time and I put on 4 layers of clothing to go out and still freeze... brrrrrr. It is in the single digits though so I suppose that's to be expected, but I freeze indoors too. This phenom is new I use to be so hot all the time now I turn the heat up to clambake and my son is roasting LOL. talk more later
