CMS Medicare books

I was talking with a few patients and most did not know that CMS (Medicare) makes a specific booklet for Kidney dialysis and transplant services.


Most people only get the general red,white and blue "Medicare and You book" from Medicare.

Seems CMS is pretty tight and just doesnt give it out to all kidney patients like you think they should.  Pretty much need to ask them for it.

Mine is a few years old, not sure if they have updated it since then.


Anyway the book is:

"Medicare Coverage of the Kidney Dialysis and Kidney Transplant Services".
Publication No. CMS-10128

Last revised was November 2004

Should be able to get it from Medicare through your local office, or by calling   1-800-633-4227  (1-800-MEDICARE)

Thank you BigSky, i called and ordered mine just now, just to let you all know they ask for some info that is on your medicare card (but can get by if you dont have it on you)  you just have to go through a series of questions to identify yourself,
