Has anyone heard about this?

A girl in France had a face transplant.

What do you think about this? I feel we all have a unique view that may be different than the ones spoken in this vid.

I personally think it's sad when someone has to change their face poor friends and family that must be hard when your daughter looks diffrent all of a sudden. But I'm not against it if they feel the need to do it then go right ahead.

The possibility's a criminal would have through hmm I'm not sure about this yet -_-

I suppose it would be good for people with Cleft Pallets and parts of their face missing right from birth (my dad was one of those people).

But ya .. I am not too sure about this too .. as it is a part of our identity .. what we look like...

That happened a while ago didn't it?  I have no problem with it, although I can see how it would be difficult.  Don't think it should really be for cosmetic reasons (don't like my nose, so I'll get a new one) but for medical reasons or people who are disfigured, go for it!

There was an article on this in People Magazine a while back and the reason this girl had the transplant was because she'd been horribly disfigured in a dog attack.  She wasn't able to be out in public without people staring at her and basically had no life as she was confined indoors all the time.  I also saw a special on TV's Discovery Health about this subject before this transplant took place and they were interviewing a girl who had lost her nose and lips and was also disfigured from being trapped in a car fire.  In cases like these, you're giving someone back a life.  Not unlike the chance we get when we get a new kidney.  I don't see anything wrong with it in cases like these.
