Diagnosed with ESRD-November 2006 I have had 2 fistuals-neither one worked I have had 2 grafts the last one finally "took" I had 3 different catheters from Nov. 06 - Dec. 08 Got on the transplant list - Halloween Day 2008
You can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those who they think can do nothing for them. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE SOOOOO TRUE!

went to the unit with my sister on Wednesday (1 week before transplant). everything went well. but when i got home got a call from the surgeon saying that we need to delay the transplant for the 26th November!!!!! Apparently she would like to have a specific urologist present in case of complications. and he on leave at the moment.

It might be hard to wait, but sounds like a good reason. You are going to love that new kidney.

You want the best possible outcome for the donor and the recipient. The postponement is a drag but hopefully is worth the wait. Hang in there - best wishes to you both!

Hi Draven. I am really excited for you and the 26th will come around really quickly. As others have said they are doing the best for you and your donor by delaying. Still a great early Christmas present. All the best. Love Cindy. xx

My DAD: Cirrohsis at 32 from Hepatitis C,,,,50 Liver Failure from Hep C, 52 Liver Transplant, 2000 Lymphoma from Anti Rejection Meds treated and has been fine. Present: Kidney failure from Meds for the liver transplant Hepatitis C is very very active which is damaging the liver they are worried that he may need a liver transplant to, but until he is strong enough to get the liver biopsy. And now he is hit with blood infection that he caught in the hospital ( i feel from nurses being not gentle enough with him).... Started Dialysis Nov 08...Just waiting to see what the miserable Hep C disease is doing to our liver before we can even think about a kidney transplant!!!! Roxanne My prayers and thoughts are with everyone!!!
