If you
had
to choose between a heartache or a bodyache to have to deal with for the rest of your life, TWENTY-FOUR/SEVEN which would you choose, a bodyache or heartache?

Body ache is the way to go for me as well. At least there are things that can be taken to reduce the bodyache, heartache has no relief. Besides heartache leads to other things such as depression.

Body ache for me too. Heartache is so painful, feels like it will never be better and can take over your whole life.

I have to say that I'd take heartache if, and only if, ESRD is the bodyache I could avoid. If the question means one or the other on top of the kidney failure, just shoot me now. I think I'm generally pretty resilient and I seem able to cope with quite a bit but the only time I seriously considered ending my life was when I had a bone spur on one of my vertebrae, then surgery and months of recovery. That grinding me down every second pain is the worst ache I've ever known in my life.

You are so right, Paris!!! A heartache does feel like it will never get better! I had no reason for posting this question..........just something I thought of this morning. I too, would much rather have bodyaches than to deal with a heartache. Afterall, you *can* take pain meds for a bodyache which will hopefully make you feel *some* better. I still remember my first heartbreak, it was horrible and I still remember that deep, down, dreadful feeling and I thinking it would
never
stop hurting. Do you all remember your first heartache? I say *first* because I am sure most of us has had more than one, but for me, that first one was the worst!

I'm a little embarrassed but also very glad to say that I've actually never had my heart broken so I might answer differently if I had. I came a bit too close for comfort once but my heart got mended.

You *might* think differently if you ever experienced a heartache, Monrein

I think of heartache in terms of more than just romance. Watching your child be diagnosed with tumors and not knowing what will happen or how you are going to help them cope, losing your parents, a child--things that are so painful and only time can make it better. Good question, TW!

I was going to say heartache until Paris brought up that heartache can be more than a romantic type.. I didn't think of having to watch a child or loved one suffer. If it was just a romance one, I'd take the heartache, but to watch someone suffer is more than I can bear.

I am plunking for bodyache. Some of us already have to live with lots of that, even if not 24/7. But heartache like that, NO THANKS!!!
[I have never had a heartache that lasted more than a week, but even that is too much for me.]
