Hi Noramaria, and welcome to our website, the best one regarding this matter in fact.
I am so happy you found us and i hope you stay with us, i have found this site as the best support group i can or will ever be a part of. We all have at least one thing in common here and that is dialysis, yes, we all hate it and we are tired of it and so on but its something that has to be done. I did Hemo for 3 years and now that i am on PD, life is so much better and easier to cope with this damned disease. Please share with us some of your experiences, your ups, your downs, feel free to ask questions, post comments or concerns, we look forward to hearing more from you... and once again WELCOME

Welcome to our community. Here you have a chance to rant and vent, and get it all out of your system. For in the final analysis, we just seek a good quality of life. Dialysis is not pleasant, but at least it gives us a chance to live a bit longer. I understand your feeling though.
I am not sure if we have anyone else from Ireland. Which section of Ireland are you from? Eire or northen Ireland?
[I am presently giving private French lessons to a young lady from Ireland. That is another accent that I adore. I love the non-standard English British accents, maybe because I don't hear them very often. Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Cornish, and even Hartleypudlian.
I am digressing, but did you guys know that the adjective from Liverpool is Liverpudlian?]

As a mother of a hemo pt, I'd like to add my welcome. Some of us are family members, pre-dialysis or work in the field.

Hi Noramaria! I found I liked PD better than HD. What don't you like about PD?

Sorry I sounded so cheesed off the other day. My time on the machine has been increased from 8 hours every night to 10 hours. I am finding this very difficult and feeling sorry for myself. Some people have asked what part of Ireland I come from. I live in southern Ireland. I was called for transplant in June but at the last moment the op was cancelled as the kidney was not suitable. Most of the time I can be upbeat but I recently passed the 6 year mark on dialysis and felt down.

Welcome Nora. I'm part Irish. I would love to visit there someday. Have fun on this site. If you hate dialysis, this is the place to be.
