A recent eMail from the National Kidney Foundation (U.S.):

Kidney Health Initiative (KHI)
Would you like to learn more about the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and how new medical devices come available?

Understanding Patient Preferences is a way for industry, FDA, scientists and clinicians to match patients? opinions and choices with the approval of new medical devices. We want to hear directly from patients and their care partners about what works best for them.

Consider participating in a live webcast of an upcoming workshop hosted by the Kidney Health Initiative (KHI), titled “Understanding Patients? Preferences: Stimulating Medical Devices Development in Kidney Disease”.

Taking place on August 12-13, 2015 portions of the workshop will be streamed live so individuals can participate from home or work. This workshop will balance education with time for hearing directly from patients about their ideas. Participants are able to submit questions online and receive real time answers and feedback from the presenters.

Who is invited: patients, family members, care partners, scientists, doctors, nurses, technicians, and companies.

To learn more or register to participate in the webcast, please visit the KHI website:  http://www.asn-online.org/khi/patients.aspx?ID=3

If you have any questions regarding the workshop, its webcast or how to register, please contact KHI staff at KHI@asn-online.org.

KHI is a public-private partnership between the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) and the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) established in 2012. KHI includes over 70 member organizations and companies that represent all major stakeholders in the field of kidney disease: patient and health professional organizations, pharmaceutical companies, device manufacturers, dialysis providers, research institutions, and federal agencies.
