The 5th Annual Home Dialyzors United Meet-Up and Conference will be held October 23-24, 2014 in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the Marriott Downtown Hotel, 350 W. Maryland St. This year, HDU is teaming up with Indiana University Health, one of the largest home hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis programs in the country.

As at past conferences, the HDU/IU meet-up will consist of a national audience of patients, care partners, and renal professionals coming together in an atmosphere of shared learning and collaboration.

Following a joint plenary session, attendees will have a choice of professional or patient focused tracts. CEUs/CMEs will be offered for the professional sessions. Both professional and patient and care partners will present a wide variety of topics including; The Medical Evidence for Home Hemodialysis, Transitioning between Therapies, Thriving on Peritoneal Dialysis, End of Life/Palliative Care, The Future of ESRD Care, Saving your Legs—Vascular Disease, Care Partnering, Getting an Education while on Dialysis, Transplantation—Getting on Board, and much more. Patient and professional panels will offer participants the chance to hear from both sides.

Breakout sessions during lunch will provide an added opportunity to engage in small group discussions about vital topics.

Best of all, there is a reduced conference registration fee for patients and care partners. The $125 fee for patients includes $50 for the conference and $75 for the HDU banquet. If a care partner attends with a patient, the partner may attend the conference for free with the only charge being $75 for the banquet. The banquet includes a gourmet dinner featuring steak or salmon. Special diets, including vegetarian, gluten free, vegan and others are also available on request.

Hotel rooms can be reserved for $169.00 + 9% tax by visiting the HDU web site http://www.homedialyzorsunited.org or by calling the hotel directly at 1-405-6092 and using the code

M-1W9SZSF. This price is also good for 3 days before and after the conference dates. However, to ensure the reduced rate, hotel registration must be completed by September 20, 2014

HDU is also pleased to announce that its annual Awards and Recognition Banquet will be held the evening of October 23, beginning with a welcome reception at 5:30, followed by dinner and the award presentations. To register for the banquet and conference, click on the link at the HDU website.

As in the past, this is an exciting, must attend conference for patients, care partners and professionals who are affected by chronic kidney failure. HDU’s past conference have received rave reviews about not only the presentations but also the chance to learn from each other.

Come join us in Indy to explore “The Road Home”!
