EL SEGUNDO, Calif.—Tour DaVita, a fundraising bike ride event to raise kidney disease awareness, continues this year in Wisconsin with more than 230 participants riding approximately 240 miles over four days.

“This is one of the most important events of the year for our community,” DaVita CEO Kent Thiry, who will be participating, said in a statement. “It is our way to express our dedication and commitment to our patients through continued education and awareness. Our teammates have worked incredibly hard both training and fundraising for this cause, and I’m honored to be a part of it with them.”

The ride starts on Sept. 15 in New London, Wis., and will cross the finish line four days later in the town of Algoma. Tour DaVita’s goal is to raise funds in order to fight chronic kidney disease. Funds raised by the bike ride will benefit The Kidney TRUST, which is an independent public charity DaVita founded in 2006.

Last year, more than 200 Tour DaVita riders raised more than $350,000 in the four-day, 230-mile event that took participants from Sheffield, Ala., to Nashville, Tenn.
