Kitkatz is sending her big stick for you to use on Ike. Be warm and be careful lady friend. I want you to get through Ike with no problems.
-
Twirly....please be safe. :cuddle;
P.S. Those boots on your avatar look pretty waterproof, but I'm quite concerned about the rest of the outfit. That baton could really attract lightning.
-
Let's hope Ike peters out. Be safe!
-
Stay safe, Twirly! I do not think we are going anywhere. I'm stocking up on doggy food tomorrow in case we get flooded in. Can you believe they are making us go in for 1/2 day tomorrow? All the other districts have NO school tomorrow. Stupid district!
-
Stay safe Twirl. :grouphug;
-
Stay safe Twirl. I need you to bust my chops in the "Last post loves IHD the most" thread :thumbup;

As one who lives in the hurricane zone, I really empathize with you at this time. Please be safe. Do whatever you need to protect yourself. Let us know how you and your family are doing. :cuddle; :grouphug;
-
Please stay safe, Twirl. :cheer:
We love you.
-
thank you guys
went to the store today and could hardly get there
the traffic with evacuees is unbelievable
stores are closing and boarding up
we are running out of gas and water
have to go to dialysis at 3:45 am in the morning until 7am ( 4am hook-up time)
I was right about the staying on for only 3 hours
-
Stay safe, Twirly!
My husband does not want to evacuate so we are riding out the storm. I am worried about not having electricity. We have well water so if there's no electricity there's no flushing toilets or bathing! Yikes!! (And no Internet -- I do not know which is worse.)
-
twirl and MIbarra. :grouphug; Please be safe, this storm looks really nasty. I'll be thinking and praying that it runs out of steam before landfall. :cuddle; I hate middle of the night storms of any kind.
-
People in Ike's path please stay safe!! I have only watched hurricanes on TV!!! We sometimes get the tail end of them but they have "petered" out a lot by the time they get this far north. Usually just a tropical storm by the time they get here. :flower; Get the big stick for Ike :Kit n Stik; and twirl please don't use :Kit n Stik; on your hubby no matter how mad he makes you. :cuddle;
-
Fuel!
Chain Saw!
Fuel!
Propane for the gas grill!
Did I mention fuel?
To any of you in the path and on dialysis, be careful what you eat, and drink sparingly. Even if you never pay attention to dietary restrictions, do so now! High potassium can kill you, probably quicker than anything else (well, then there's drowning from the inside with fluid overload, and uremia). Follow that disaster diet until you're sure you can get dialysis. This is the scariest storm I have seen since being a part of IHD and I want to see everyone back here safe after he passes!

I am worried and hope like hell Ike leaves your area alone. Do not think you are alone in this. We are all here hoping Ike goes away. Maybe all of our blowing towards it will turn it away from you.
-
take care twirl- i hope you are safe
-
I will go to D at 3:35am for a 4:00 am hook - up
and run for three hours instead of four
our gas stations are now empty of gas
I 45 is bumper to bumper to bumper
it may take me two hours to get to a 25 minute to D
getting worried
places are boarding up
:flower;
-
Maybe go now, bring breakfast, sleep in car?
Sheesh I hope you make it okay!
-
thank you
am I a special needs person
they get evacuated for free and they come get you
-
Traffic lines Interstate 45 leaving Houston as Hurricane Ike approaches the Texas Gulf Coast Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008 in The Woodlands, Texas.
-
omg that is by River Plantation
we just passed it about that time and we were on the side road
police would not let people exit
people were going under a bridge
to pee pee I guess
they left their cars on the freeway
-
It looked worse than that during Hurricane Rita. My hubby and I fled that one. It took us 13 hours for a normal 2 hour drive and we could not exit either. I was on dialysis at the time and never had to pee. Poor hubby! (He has normal working kidneys.) He had to hold it.
Twirl, yes you would be special need because you require dialysis which you can't do without electricity.
-
I don't know what requirements have to be met for special needs but I would think that you have special needs. Please stay safe and know that I think you are a very special person.

-
oh yes, I do have a special needs parking permit
it is 2:40 am and I need to do my arm for screwalysis
I hear from the tv that the traffic is horrible still
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
at least I will be done at 7am
-
one more comment before I go to screwalysis
when the nurse called she told me to be here at 3:45 am
they are going to hook us up as quickly as we arrive
so does it take a disaster to get Davita to hook us up on time
I am always on time
my hook-up time is 6am, which hardly ever happens
usually it is 6:15 - 6:30
opps or oh Sh*t, I just heard television mention Conroe :o
