Yesterday it was almost funny..today I just cried....while dialysing yesterday morning the ups fairy left 6 boxes of dialysate on the deck...no knock...we grumbled and brought them in....we were sitting in the dining room 2 hours later and heard a clunk...went to the door and saw ups man running back to his truck...opened door..called to him ..he turned with an attitude, snarled what do you want I just left you a package...(about 3 feet square and another almost that big) and again started to get into his truck...I said I want you to knock, that is what I want..we dragged the boxes into the house...I called ups and was told "yes, they definately have to knock or ring the doorbell, and in my case the inside door was open"..said would call his home office who later called and apologized..said he was told needed to alert us going forward...it appears he has had more complaints because the man in the home office asked if he was the driver with an attitude...oh yes....left for an hour today and came back to guess what..another load of dialysate on the deck..which was not supposed to be here until Thursday...so my tiny house is floor to ceiling boxes and Davita home hemo nurse keeps forgetting other appts she has so has not been out to set up the new chassis which she told us not to touch...well guess what...I am going to touch it because if I have to look at another box I will scream....and then could not get a decent stick this morning so only ran 1/2 the time, stopped the run and said I really don't care...I feel fine and this D*** machine can wait until tomorrow......I thought someone said if more than 10 boxes another carrier delivers..this was 13 boxes and it was ups...... :Kit n Stik; :rant;

Call them again. Hopefully for you they will get the message. I haven't used UPS since they went on strike a few years ago.

G-Ma, I'm sorry that your getting treated like that with UPS. :cuddle; When Len was doing dialysis, we were through Fresenius, they had their own warehouses, trucks, delivery personnel. They were very good about calling the week before delivery to confirm date and time. I hated to see 40+ boxes appear. Our livingroom was floor to ceiling boxes. The drivers would even offer to put the gallons of BiCarb and 1K in closets on shelves for us. They would not take the empty boxes away. We did have a few occasions that they didn't have everything we had ordered and they would send it UPS. We have had the same UPS driver for 20 years. Jim is great, if stuff is heavy, he will bring it in or put it in the gargage for us. I hope UPS fires this guy. There are plenty of folks that would love that job and be pleasant to customers to boot. I hope you get things resolved, and sorry about your treatment not going well.

I hate their drop and run policy. I can get to the door quickly, but the driver has already sprinted across the yard and jumping in his truck. They are pushed to meet a certain time frame and it stinks. Now they leave anything on the porch, if we are home or not. I am sorry they are treating you this way. Keep calling them and complaining. :grouphug;

This is what I've always said about home dialysis. Your home turns into a hospital!

Lola...must be nice...ups told me they will fire the guys if they come into a house...and I found out today they get 3 demarits and are fired...so hopefully this was number 3...and no rerun, I don't think of my home as a hospital..I am very comfortable with my cycler here...I love being able to dialyse in my slippers and robe if I choose...I don't think of my cycler as any different from one of my sewing machines..I need it to provide a function for me...that is the only way I can look at it...I help homeschool my granddaughter so I need to stay sane so I can go crazy with her and I refuse to allow ups to drive me over the edge...if dialysis can't neither can ups...so there...paris..we must have the same driver..good runner...maybe that is a qualification now??? twirl..you are one funny one... :rofl;

I think the dump and run tactic is SOP for UPS - mine does the same thing - rain, shine or snow!

Oh...delivery days!!! We have a set schedule of when Marvin orders his supplies and when they're SUPPOSED to be delivered, but that delivery date is not always accurate and sometimes UPS shows up one/two days earlier than our schedule. If we're not home, the boxes are stacked on the back porch (thank goodness it's a covered porch). I hate when that happens because then I have to haul all of those boxes in the house and down the hall to Marvin's clinic. We bought a foldable "hand truck" so it is easier for me to get them in (bought it at Lowe's for about $30). However, if we're home, the UPS man brings the stuff in and puts it wherever I ask (he will carry it all the way down the hall to Marvin's clinic if I ask him).

Be glad you're getting UPS- around here. they sub it out to a contract delivery shop. Oh mah gawsh, these people are terrible.
