Title: Finally on the road to recovery!
Post by: KICKSTART on September 08, 2008, 11:33:29 AM
Well one last attempt today paid off !!! All the trouble i was having breathing was getting beyond a joke so i decided to call out my G.P. yet again , with the worst that could happen was being sent back to the hospital (but i was beyond caring and needed someone to do something) Anyway just after dinner he came to the house , he was very nice and gave me the once over (yet again) and straight away he said i have Bronchitus ..no wonder i couldnt breathe!!! After being like this for over a week untreated and undiagnosed (even by the hospital) he said he wasnt suprised at the state i was in ! So i have got an inhaler , our old friend Presnisolone and anti - biotics. Ahem 6 hours later after using the inhaler 3 times  I can breathe better than i have done for a week   :yahoo; So dont always think renal as its not always the case ( i knew it wasnt for me)

Ken ..you absolute Angel thankyou ever so much for your offer , but hopefully now i should start to pick up  :2thumbsup;

Kickstart,
Glad you finally got an answer. You will start feeling better right away now that they have the right diagnosis with the appropriate treatment.
Two Springs ago I had trouble breathing and they couldn't figure it out till they finally did a chest x-ray and by then, I had double pneumonia.So your right, sometimes it's not always the renal disease.But I do think the renal disease makes us more suseptable to many things.

Glad you figured out the problem Kickstart.  Didn't the docs at the hospital even listen to your chest?? Get out the  :Kit n Stik; for them!!  I have had broncitis and have had difficulty breathing. Had it a few years ago. Had to go to ER several times before they finally figured out what was wrong and gave me a puffer.  Worked wonders.

Well at long last.  You must be so relieved to at least have some idea of what's going on.  I swear I took a couple of extra deep breaths for you when I read your post today.   :cuddle;

Kickstart I am so relieved  to hear you're on the mend. Its great news and we were all getting very anxious about you. The failure to diagnose or to even make any sort of diagnosis by your local hospital is appalling and I hope you are going to lodge an official complaint to your NHS trust.

So I can take the oxygen cylinder out of the boot of my car now can I? lol  :cuddle;

Ken .. :rofl;    Yes you can take the oxygen out of your boot ..but if you fancy swapping it for champagne ?    :yahoo;

Sadly with renal failure the doctors tend to look no further , in fact i rang up my PD unit this morning to tell them i finally had found out what was wrong with me , only to be asked by the renal sister ..'you sure its not fluid overload '?   :Kit n Stik;   So you see what im up against !!!

Dear Kickstart,
I've not been on the boards for a while, but am glad to know that you've finally been diagnosed correctly! It's scary that we have to put our lives into other peoples' hands on so many occasions.

Here's to a speedy recovery and many a good nights' sleep! (lying down!)
