What brands do you use?
What do you put on yours?
I will only eat Hebrew National. I find gristle and other nasty bits in every other brand.
I put mustard and cheese on my weenies. ;D
-
Myself I usually avoid hot dogs.
Too much sodium, potassium to be worth it to me.
Though before I was on those restrictions I would eat just about any hot dog, well except turkey hot dogs. :-X
-
I only eat chicken hotdogs :P By Maple Leaf :P But I won't eat them right before blood work :P I like ketchup on mine :)
-
I usually stick to in store brand hotdogs.
And I like them with ketchup and mustard usually but sometimes a little chili and cheese is good to.
-
I will not pay 2.99 for hot dogs, so whatever is cheap and tasty I buy. I love hot dogs with mustard, ketchup, relish, throw some chili on there and cheese and you have a snack!

http://www.nathansfamous.com/
All major grocery stores carry them. They LITERALLY are world famous.
All I need is mustard and jalapenos.
-
Great! Wonderful! Thanks Epoman. ::) Now that I saw that link, I want a hotdog right now. :P
-
Mmmmmm, hot dogs,,, slap some ketchup, mustard, relish, onions and jalapenos on there and watch out.... but what i dont get is how the hell do these ballparks get away with selling you a $4.50 damn hot dog when for that price you can get a whole pack of wienies, buns, ketchup, chips and feed a family of 4 with it,,, what a rip off
-
Just before I go to dialysis (during school time), I go to the cafeteria and order a hotdog with EVERYTHING (that even includes mayo!) except pepper.
Don't even know what brand it is. most likely chicken -they are the ones most consumed here.
-
I like ball park.
First I grill my hod dogs then I toast the bun on the grill put some cheese on it 10 seconds on the grill again, ketchup and mustard and I'm good!

If you put them in a large pot of cold water and bring to a full rolling boil it will remove a lot of the salt, potassium (and fat). After they're drained you can cook as usual. I find there is very little change in the taste.
-
Good idea! How long do you boil them?

Interesting. But if that's so, then can't you just boil them until they are cooked? I mean, that is how I cook them when I am home alone.

LOL, yes, you can, but my husband likes them fried or grilled so they have that crunchy, crispy outside.
-
Ahh, okay. That makes a lot of sense.
-
I used to boil them when I had to worry about the salt. I knew about that trick for years now (since I was 9 I had to do that) :P

We have Nathan's.
With mustard and sauerkraut--YUM.
Of course, the hot dog is followed by dialysis! :o
-
We have some Nathan's Famous over here on the left coast too. If you ever come out you won't have to go hungry.
-
All of this is making me hungry. I just ran down to the barber shop and after grabbed a footlong at Circle K.
