I heard what sounded like someone messing around with a car outside, and I went to look and nobody is there. I am hearing car doors opening, etc. Its almost 1 am and its freaking me out
-
If that ever happens to me and I am alone i get myself pretty frightened. So my solution is to call the local police, not 911, but just the station desk, non-emergency. I tell them I am scared and usually they send a car by just to take a look. I hope you can do something like that.

That's what I pay Cujo for
-
Are you ok this morning? :grouphug;
Do you like cats or dogs? When I hear strange noises, I check to see what mine are doing. If the cats are asleep on the bed and the dog isn't barking, I'm reassured and pop right back to sleep. If you like pets, maybe your parents would consider letting you have one. They're worthless for protection (well, maybe except for Cujo! :rofl;), but since they have such sensitive ears, I know if they don't hear a problem, all is good! :cheer:

Get some mace and a baseball bat. At least you will feel better having it.
-
how are you today
I think O'Karol has the right idea about calling a cop
hope you are fine
-
It's probably those damned raccoons I ran off last weekend
-
or the chipmunks

great idea about the police OKarol. I will remember that one.

karen - I just got this from our local neighborhood watch:
Dear Neighbors,
Considering that a home break in, theft and a possible assault occurred in our neighborhood yesterday, it may behoove us to keep the following in mind:
* Use our alarm systems even during the day- even if to walk a dog or to go the store- that way when you return home you can be assured that no one is inside. (Some alarm companies offer a very small, key sized fob that activates the system with the push of a button. The fob can be carried in your key chain so you can activate/deactivate your system from the outside making it very easy to use daily.)
* Do not hesitate to call the police to come out and take a look if something appears odd or unusual.
* If you have an alarm company that patrols let them know that a break in occurred in your neighborhood and that extra surveillance would be appreciated.
* PASADENA POLICE NON-EMERGENCY NUMBER (626) 744-4241
* Input the Pasadena Police Non-Emergency number into your cell phone as one of the first numbers on your cell. That way when you are out and about (normally when you tend to observe things) you can call immediately.
Of course, in case of an emergency dial 911.
Let’s hope our neighbors are well and that over time our efforts and our diligence can discourage any further crimes.

That's fine and dandy if you live in big cities with large PD's. Here we only have one or two officers to cover the whole county late at night. Fortunatley we don't have many crimes and the noises outside are usually raccoons or deer. Most people here don't lock their doors but still keep a gun handy, just in case.
-
FlipBob, did you ever read the novel In Cold Blood or see the old black and white movie?
keep your doors locked and your gun loaded
now I have to worry about you sleeping in an unlocked house
I know worrying is my hobby but this is stressful
-
Actually I saw the movie when it first came out. If someone gets past Cujo, they still have to face the attack cats.

:rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; attack cats! I loved that pic! I have 2 cats but they are FAR from attacking anyone, they run from their own shadow as I am sure yours do too! That was cute tho! made me smile for a minute! :rofl;

I think flip will be ok because the raccoons he barbequed are also hanging around waiting for their turn at revenge so I'm sure they won't let anyone else get at him. :rofl;
