Got my Pd cath yesterday, the pain is not as bad as I thought it would be, but it's enough that I am using the pain pills six hours.

May you heal fast, and have a long and healthy PD experience :thumbup;

Just rest and relax if you can ? Dont forget to have some laxatives handy as you usually end up constipated in the begining :thumbup; Remember it takes 6 to 8 weeks to heal internally as well , so no cartwheels for a while !!! :2thumbsup;

Woo hoo, good for you! They prescribed pain pills for me, but I never even filled the prescription. For me it was more of an "annoyance" than pain. Be sure and let us know when you start PD.

Being proactive is a must with kidney failure - you've got to get the access before you start and it could still be a long time until you need to. Mom got her graft on July 30. She still gets some soreness but the anxiety of having to get it was huge for her.
Hope you feel less pain very soon. By the way, how's the weather down there?! My sister lives in Palm Bay and says they got 30 in of rain. (ok, sorry off-topic) take care willcon

Yea, I know just how she felt, I really dreaded having the cath put in, but now I'm glad it's done. The doctor syas I need to start dialysis as soon as I'm healed. I live in Tallahassee , we expect to start getting rain from the storm later tonight, they say we may receive over 5 inches.
