Just wanted to say hi to all and let you know that I'm still here -- haven't fallen off the face of the earth or anything like that. :rofl; I haven't been posting much because I've been feeling the need for some "quiet time," but have been reading posts and trying to keep track of how everyone is doing. Today marks 3 weeks since my donation surgery, and I am happy to report that I am doing well and feeling great! The rest of the folks involved in the exchange are also doing well, thank goodness. Thanks again for all your support throughout the process -- it meant A LOT to me. I'm not sure I could have done it without IHD. :thx; :grouphug;

Dear friend, so glad you posted. Someone once told me that the donor feels a little like a new mother. For months everyone is worried about the mom (donor) until the baby comes. Then the whole focus is on the baby (recepient) and the mom (donor) is kind of left behind. So, how are your emotions? You have been so honest during this whole process and it is so very helpful to anyone thinking of donation. You could write a book! Thank you for joining IHD in the beginning to try to understand this disease. And thank you for letting us go through all of the donation process with you. We hold donors is high esteem. You all are heros. Now, when someone comes here with questions concerning the health of donors or the effect on donors, you will beable to give real advice, from first hand experience. You have lots of reading to catch up on!

I'd read the book.

Hi and thanks for asking. I'm doing great!! Today is 10 weeks since surgery, and I feel like nothing ever happened! My recipient is doing very well also; her creatinine is consistently running between 0.6 and 0.8 !! Here's a picture of us doing the Rocky Mountain PKD walk a few weeks ago in Denver.
And tomorrow I'm headed to Vegas!! Life is good!
