Title: Pain when breathing
Post by: Deanne on August 15, 2008, 09:01:49 AM
Now what!? I haven't called my Dr yet. I'm not sure which Dr to call! Probably my primary care. I figure I'll give it until next week because I don't think it's anything really bad. Hopefully just some weird pulled muscle or anxiety? It hurts a bit when I breathe. It doesn't hurt badly and I don't think it's in my chest -- more in my throat or just behind my collarbone. It's hard to pinpoint the source of the pain / discomfort. Mostly it's just an annoyance / discomfort and is only noticably painful when I first crawl into bed because it's worse when I lay down. Anyone ever experience anything like this before? It started last weekend.

If I remember correctly from the other posts, you've been sick lately.  Have you been throwing up?  I get similar strange pains that make it hard to breathe from vomiting so violently that I pull muscles.  Just a thought. . .

Not me. I haven't been sick.  :clap; I was thinking maybe I pulled a muscle swallowing one of my meds though. One got stuck last week. Hate it when that happens!

Just to be safe I would talk to a doctor about that.  I have had both lungs collapse at different points in time and both I had pain in that region and bending over or lying down hurt because of that shift in the lung and the air trapped around it.  Try bending over as far as you can like you were trying to touch your toes and if you feel odd movement that would be a good sign that is the problem.  Only an X-ray could tell you for sure though.  You can function with a partially collapsed lung with no problems as long as you are still getting enough oxygen into your system with no symptom other than some pain and as long as it doesn't collapse further.  Either way better safe than sorry in my opinion.

I think I'm better!  :cheer: (<-- love that cheerleader!). I spent a lot of time laying around over the weekend and I'm feeling much better this morning.

Um.... Twirl? Do I want to know why it hurts to breathe when you have sex? Probably not!
