My UF each morning is only abour 260mls from Cycler Pd. because my urinary function is still 100% Suddenly this morning it was nearly over 600mls. And I also realised I'd only got out of bed for a pee just once in the night. I'm thinking Jesus is my urine production starting to finally pack up? and then I looked at the main fluid bag.
It was a 2.27 (2.5 American) and I normally use 1.36 (1.5 American)
What had happened was that the prevouis day I had done some rearainging in my garage and of the 3 boxes of green I keep in stock (although never use) I had accidently put one in the yellow box pile and not checked the strenghth when I set the machine up.
Would changing to a stronger fluid overdialyse me? it's just that I like the idea of not having to get up to pee three or four times per night but I'm thinking also that the more I rely on dialysis for fluid removal the quicker my my urine output will decrease irreversably.

Yes, yes, and again I say yes. The higher the concentration of dextrose, the more fluid it removes. That's why when I came back from Sedona 14 pounds heavier because the idiots told me to use all 1's, when they put me on the cycler I had to use 4.25 for 3 nights running to get the fluid off. I had ankles that looked like tree trunks; I could barely walk. Hope that helps!

Hi Ken ..believe it or not i use 3 different strengths in the course of one day !!! I know i do CAPD but i use 2 greens , 1 orange and an extraneal at night . Yes the stronger the solution the more it pulls off you , its not really a good idea to use strong ones if you dont need too, apart from getting dehydrated you tend to get used to the strength ( i did , i started on yellows!) One night or one or two exchanges wont harm you , but why use strong ones if you dont have to , oh and if irrc they wear out your peritonium quicker!
