Title: Modifying posts.
Post by: kitkatz on July 26, 2008, 05:01:07 PM
Just so you all know, you can fix your posts or modify them.  Just hit the modify button on the post and it will allow you to modify your lovely misspelled words or to fix the smiley tags that do not show up for you in your post.
Remember, only you can fix spelling errors in your posts!  You can check old post by going into your name and on the bottom where you would do a PM underneath is a link to your old posts.
I go back and check mine regularly to make sure I am carrying the torch for IHD.   :grouphug;

To bad theres not an autospell check feature like they have on my school email before it sends the message out. I keep forgetting to use the spell check feature and I know it's there. I am pretty sure I have a couple post with misspelled words. Now I have my setting set so that after posting a reply, it returns to the topic. This might make me better to correct mistakes.

We all make mistakes but I do use the google spell check. Sometimes I get in too much of a hurry and forget, then a day or two later I'll see it and fix it.  Epoman used to get so frustrated with our mistakes because we are moderators and Admins.

But that don't make you perfect. :P

How is Google Spell Checker? I have Google Mail and it well sucks. It highlights the words in a very light color (must be yellow) that I can't see, nor does Google allow you to change it. >:( :rant;

Thanks for starting this thread, Kitkatz.  Epoman was very ardent about the need to spellcheck. He wanted the site to "show a good face" to  the public.  By and large, people have been doing fairly well.

Spellcheck can't always help me! Sometimes I type a word, any word, and it's spelled right...  It's just not the right word.  My fingers and my brain are not always on the same page.   :shy;

Epoman did such an incredible job of putting everything in place so this site could continue.   I think of how much he emphasized good spelling, not using text lingo and keeping it all in order. We need to keep up the good work to honor him.  Now, I am going to hit the spell check  :rofl;

I have noticed in a few old post some mistakes. I'm to quick at clicking post instead of spell check. Ones I do notice mistakes I have corrected. To many post to find to check all though.

That was definitely one of Epoman's pet peeves...the spellcheck. It seems that most people do a great job on this forum.   :bow;  Keep up the good work!
