Title: A setback!
Post by: Ohio Buckeye on July 26, 2008, 01:43:37 PM
I think I mentioned in another thread that my son and his wife were having problems.
She went to NY and took my little Tyler with her and I don't get to see him often.
My son went up this weekend to see him.  Anyway I am somewhat depressed and
not so motivated with walking.  I missed therapy last 2 wks.  One day this week I
felt unbelievably bad.  Just say a prayer for me.  Thanks.

I am saying many prayers for you and all of us.  Depression can really get to us if we allow it and sometimes I do allow it.  This is one of those weekends...is it something in the water?  Just keep talking to everyone on this site.  Everyone is so good and giving.

I hope things improve OB. You need to keep moving but I understand it's tough. I am proud of you for reaching out to welcome new members despite your setback!
Hopefully you will be walking and can visit Tyler before you know it. That's a goal worth working on. Hang in there my friend!  :cuddle;

OB, I am so sorry for your heartache right now.  Not seeing Tyler and the worry that goes along with that is depressing.  Remember, you have to keep moving forward with your therapy so you can be stonger and be here as Tyler grows up. He needs you even if you can't be in the same state.  He will be grown all too soon, and he will know that you were always there for him.    How are you doing being at home alone?  Have your friends been over lately?  Wish I could pop over and we could share a Donato's pizza!!   You will be in my prayers.  Love you! :cuddle;

OB, I can't speak to you for your loss of your grandson, but, please try and find the strength to get back to therapy. Remember your goals, they will come true. You can do it...Boxman

OB, I know it is hard for you right now.  Just remember we are here anytime you need us.  For support or just to tell you it is going to be okay someday!

Victor goes through days where he is down.  He is going to see a new doctor in August about the leg and this one is to follow him through the city settlement.  V's lawyer let the city know that we are not playing with them and they need to take us seriously when they met two weeks ago.  God help them. Please Lord enough money so we can both retire or liv eon it and disability monies from my work.  It can be very frustrating.

His new leg has had several sleeve changes and fitting snow, just to get it to the point where is doe snot hurt him. He sill uses the practice leg quite a bit just because it is comfortable.  It is a process to walk again.

I know I have not experienced this personally, but as his care taker it has been an arduous process full of frustration and worry. My advice:

Lean into your friends and family.
Give yourself time to heal emotionally and mentally as well as physically.
Let the doctor know you feel depressed.  There are wonderful counselors out there.

Now I am done nagging.  Hugs.  :grouphug;

Kit

 :grouphug; OB, I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this sad situation on top of all the rest you have to cope with.  Please know how much we want you to be feeling more like your usual self.  It must be so hard not seeing your grandson.  You're in my thoughts.

 :grouphug; OB. Keep doing your therapy so you can walk again.  I know it is really hard to be motivated sometimes but keep thinking of the end result.  :flower;

OB I am sending love and prayers your way, please go back to the therapy, you will seeTyler sometimes and he will need his grandma to walk with him and play with him then.  In fact the less time you can spend with him the more precous it will be and you will want to be able to make the most of it. We at IHD also want you to walk again so please, please don't give up  :grouphug;
