Title: OOPS!

I put my introduction post in the wrong place. What a way to start out. I found out today that my catheter will be inserted in about 2 weeks. The only thing I knew about dialysis was its' function--that is until I found this site. I wasn't completely overwhelmed by the neph's conversation today due to the extensive reading I've done on this forum. I had a knee replacement, contracted staph in the hospital, had 3 more replacements during the following 30 months, and was treated with massive doses of antibiotics. We got the staph finally-but also got the kidneys. So you know what comes next.

It's great to have you here. Too bad it is under these circumstances. You have come to the best place for information and answers when it comes to dialysis and esrd. Hope to hear more from you soon. You said catheter.  Does that mean you'll be doing PD?  If so, welcome from another PDer.  If not, welcome anyway!

Welcome to our community!   Glad that you found us. So glad that this forum was able to inform you.  "Knowledge is Power" is one of our sayings over here.  You will find this site one of your weapons in your renal fight.  But not just info, we are also a tremendous source of support and a place to go when you want to really rant, rave or just vent.  this site is now officially a family so welcome to the family.  :grouphug;
