Title: Colonoscopy?
Post by: st789 on July 09, 2008, 09:34:05 PM
Colonoscopy after kidney transplant.

How does it feel afterward?  Is it necessary to do it because I have a little blood in the stool 2 or 3 times a month?

If you have blood in your stool you should see the doctor and most likely he/she will recommend a colonoscopy.  After transplant it is important to do these types of preventative checks regularly as the drugs we take increase our risks for various cancers.  Anything odd or suspicious should always be checked out immediately.  If something is wrong and it's caught early enough, there are options.

My husband had a colonoscopy recently. He didn't feel anything afterwards except very goofy from the good drugs they gave him!

They do give you some good drugs! Most people fall asleep during it or close enough. I didn't have any problems during or after.
