Title: best dog talent show
Post by: twirl on June 29, 2008, 05:17:44 AM
hey,
anyone thinking about entering their dogs in that new talent show coming on television
we have some cute furbabies out there in IHD land
how cool would it be for one of our own to win

Sad Sack- bassett hound -- too old--- talents- decapitates snakes and carries feed bowls home ( to go food)
Yogi - cow dog----- beautiful blue eyes  -- talents -- herds everything ----- jumps in pool to pull people out -

your dogs have what talents and someone enter please

LOL My Dog is poorly trained. He would be growling at everyone and try nipping them all for coming within 30 feet of me.

My dog's talents include looking cute and making sure the kids on the street know he wants to come out and play with them.

My dogs' talents: eating as fast as they can to finish before the other one, sleeping on my bed and often on clean laundry that has been thrown on my bed, and holding their bladder as long as possible when it is raining or too darn hot!

One even went through Puppy Pre-K... I was told she did very well for a Yorkie! She managed to learn to sit and lay down after 6 whole weeks! Of course all the other dogs could sit, lay down, wait, stay, roll over, come, bring their master's shoes, type a letter, take out the trash etc. etc.

For those who haven't heard, here's the story about my dog:

I was driving down a local country road when I noticed a sign outside a house "Talking dog for sale". I think what the hell and knock on the door. The owner says the dog is in the backyard. I walk around the back of the house and see a black Labrador sitting on the back porch.
I said, "Can you talk?"
Dog replies, "Yep".
"So, what's your story?"
Dog looks up at me and says, "Well I discovered I could talk when I was just a pup and I thought I should help the government. They had me jetting around the world sitting in rooms with spies and government leaders, obviously no-one thought a dog would be eavesdropping. I was one of their best spies for eight years.

Anyways the jetting around the world was pretty tiring and I wasn't getting any younger. I wanted to settle down so I quit and went to work at the airport doing undercover work wandering around suspicious characters and listening in. Caught a lot of drug smugglers and terrorists, got me a bunch of medals.
Met a girl, had a mess of puppies and now I'm just retired."
I was amazed. I went back into the house and asked the owner how much he wanted for the dog.
"Ten dollars"
I said, "That dog is incredible! Why are you selling him so cheap?"
"He's a liar. He didn't do any of that stuff he says he did"

We have a dog with three legs and he can stand on the two that are on the same side.  Does that count as talent?  He hiked 30 miles on the Appalachian Trail with my husband and son last summer.  The dog never left my husband's side in an entire week.  I love that dog!

We also had a cat with one eye that walked in circles most of the time (born brain-damaged).  He was the color of mocha (his name, too).  We lost him to a pack of hunting dogs.  He had no chance because he could only go in circles.  I still miss him.

Awww, sweet pets.  My brother used to have a lab who was blind in one eye but was the best frisbee catching dog ever.  No one could believe how good she was, and it didn't matter if the frisbee was on the blind side.

Our dog's name is Ben.  He had that name when we adopted him.  I will post a picture of him one of these days.

We still have three other cats, all named by my son when he was little - Happy (purrs all the time), Coco (has a lot of white) and Alpine (long fluffy gray fur).  Luckily they all know how to climb trees.

Don't know if my cats can climb trees or not. They never go outside.

Flip if your cats have claws they can climb
where are pics of your pets
and I stole a recipe out of a magazine at the doc's office today
it calls for vodka
would it make a big difference in the recipe if I did not use it
is vodka expensive
I am afraid I'd drink the bottle and the hell with the recipe
can I buy it in a very small amount

I'm going to take a bunch of pics this weekend with my new camera.

Vodka is not expensive. Kahula is expensive but I make my own from the vodka. The moonshine is an old family recipe.
