Title: not my best
Post by: twirl on June 28, 2008, 06:36:13 AM
well, I could not sleep last night
Kitkatz was also up
my tummy felt weird
so I do the only sensible thing
I drank 8 ounces of Pepsi    -----   three times
it is only 8:32 am and hot as hell in Texas
and I need to be out with Bubba today buying Aggie memorabilia

do you ever start your day in the negative

Yes, I have started my day with a negative.
This morning at 6 a.m the dialysis center woke me up.
They want me in at 9:30 today. *Sigh*

The three Pepsis should have an interesting time in your system.  Enjoy!

I think Twirl is a keeper for sure but it sounds like she also needs a keeper, to keep her out of trouble. :rofl; :rofl; Any volunteers?

Yeah, I know what you mean.  But as her keeper you get to carry a whip AND your big stick.

I have to carry things?  I don't think I can do that and run after her, too.

You're quite right.  Taming Twirl would need an entire team plus back-up.  Well watching her run amok is entertaining (albeit somewhat concerning) so we'll leave her be.

Three pepsis and we have Twirl running amuck.  :bunny:

Can apply for the position? I like Dt Pepsi?  ;)

Aha, you devil Sluffy, you want to contribute to her delinquency.  This will not do at all.  I may just need to contact Sir Ken and banish you somewhere without dt pepsi.

uggh, pepsi and binders, that would be enough to make me sick, maybe it'd do the same to her and we wouldn't have to chase her, just strap her down to keep her out of trouble.  ;)

not a good day
could not go to D this early morning
went at 3:00pm
I was gagging, sweating and basically sick as a dog
Dialysis called my doctor
and I have no calcium in my blood or very little
they increased my calcium in treatment and I have to take more Oscal

so I said some bad things in D
do not tell Sluff
I am not proud
and I did surprise everyone
usually I am quiet
an older lady by me asked to go to the restroom
the techs tried to talk her out of it and she said she could not wait
one tech told her to use a blue pad like her dogs do
I said, "She is not a f-ing dog, let her go to the GD bathroom!"
needless to say, they let her go
I am not proud
I felt really sick
and it was pitiful to hear that patient be talked down too

I cannot believe nurses say these things... :urcrazy; thats crazy... Maybe its a because I'm at a pediatric unit.. but still our nurses are awesome.. they let us use the bathroom.. although they rather have u go before hand.. but they also have a curtains for privacy... and they help you.. I just can't believe that... All these things make me scared to go to any other place but mine... But our nurses will always help you...

Twirl you should be proud of yourself for sticking up for that lady   :clap; - I cant believe they think they can treat someone like that.  I'm sure Sluff won't be cross with you for swearing in D but I bet he'll be damn mad about those techs.  I hope you never have such a bad day again.   :cuddle; here, have a special bunny  :bunny:
Good for you for speaking up  :2thumbsup;

I agree, you should be proud of yourself for backing up that lady.
Makes me so angry. Let the tech sit in urine for an hour. Sheesh.
I hope you have better days than bad ones twirl.
Do you get copies of all your labs?
Here's a big {{{HUG}}} for you.

I am very proud of you, Twirl.  No one deserves to be treated like that woman was treated, and she was fortunate to have you near her.

I hope you are feeling better today.   :cuddle;

The very first impression I had when my husband started going to dialysis was that it's a culture all it's own.  Everyone on staff seemed just ever so slightly defensive when we were setting things up.  All the questions were like "Oh, he'll be going to xxx clinic.  Is that where he wanted to go?" and "Oh, we're sorry, we only have a spot of the T,Th, S afternoon shift." And after dialysis started, I made the mistake of calling the nephs office about something and was told by the receptionist that "I am not allowed to call them directly. The clinic will call us directly when there is a problem."  Well I can tell you that the biggest mistake anyone can make with me is to tell me, and especially in that tone of voice, that I am not allowed to do something that is completely reasonable.  My husband was having an allergic reaction to something and he was itching like mad, to the verge of tears.  I called our PCP and had my husband in his office 1 hour later.

Don't stop being an advocate for what is right Twirl.  It's empowering to advocate for others and for yourself.  :boxing; As far as strategy goes, hopefully you have woken them up to a new message of "don't mess with Twirl."  It might be sufficient now to "Walk softly, but carry a big stick" (I think Kitkatz has one you can borrow!)

:bow;     TWIRL, YOU ARE THE WOMAN.  Good for you.  We all need to take a page out of your book, but then I guess you wouldn't know how the story ends huh?  Ok I'll shut up now.
