Well, my trip to Rochester was delayed due to weather and I spent the night in Chicago but I got there....we went to a million doctor's appointments and labs but had a huge bump when we found out mom's antibodies went up sky high and needed plasmapheresis. She was so down but I knew it would be OK. She did 3 days of pheresis and IVIg and got her negative crossmatch last Thursday. Her transplant was on Friday the 13th....it has turned out to be a lucky day for us. She is doing great! Her creatnine is .9 and she looks and feels like her old self again. My sister is doing great, too...she had a rough time with the trapped gas but it's gone and she feels wonderful. I was gone for 10 days and missed my hubby and little man so much....my mother in law rearranged my cabinets, fridge, and freezer...eeeek! She even cleaned the house even though we have a cleaning lady, did laundry every day--including ironing hubby's shirts, entertained my son, AND cooked dinner....OH MY GOD!! How does she find the energy???? My mom did do 3 days of pheresis and IVIg after the transplant and so far, so good...the antibodies are at bay. She had to have a transfusion of 2 units of blood but she was having pheresis at the same time. My dad is helping her with her meds, etc....they are now in the monitoring phase and hopefully will be able to go home soon. They are staying in a very nice apartment building downtown, so they're close to everything and have tons to do when they aren't resting or going to the doctor. I'm glad to be home. I didn't realize how tired I was until I got to sleep in my own bed and was awakened at 6am by my son. The best news to me is, I don't have to clean house......but I do need to go to the grocery store. Yuck! Thanks for all the support!! Good luck to all seeking transplants!!!

Thanks, everybody! My mother in law has tons of nervous energy and can't sit still....I told my hubby not to get used to it because it' ain't gonna happen when I get home. Then again, she's not running after a 3 year old while pregnant with twins.....I am getting rest now and trying to gain the 5lbs. I lost back. We did A LOT of walking and I did a LOT of eating but hubby is concerned, even though my OB/Peri aren't. My sister said they'll be doing more crossmatches just to be sure and if the antibodies come back, the surgeon said mom would do pheresis and IVIg again, so we'll see....we're crossing our fingers but so far, so good. Mom had another kidney biopsy today and bloodwork. She's not taking as much blood pressure medication and her restless leg is gone. So far, she's on cellcept, prograf, prednisone, protonix, synthroid, some blood pressure meds I can't spell, a multi-vitamin, omega 3, and I'm sure a few more things but the sheer amount of meds made my head spin. My dad is great, though. He takes her temp and blood pressure and gets all her pills for her morning and night. She'll be glad when they finally get her doses regulated so she can put the real doses in the pill box they gave her. It's wild, they give her a schedule every day of all the appointments she has the next morning...it's like being in school. All in all, I can say she was in great hands and still is. I just hope things still continue to go well!

I'm so glad your mom is doing well! =D

Thanks, everybody!! My mom is still being monitored every day and has a full schedule of appointments and blood work. My dad said they have lowered her prograf to 2 tablets twice a day and cellcept to 500mg twice a day...she's still weaning down on prednisone but will always take it. Her eventual dose will be 5mg a day when that happens. Her potassium was high yesterday and she had to have 2 drips and some lasik to get rid of some fluid but all her labs have come back normal. Creatnine is steady at 1.0 but has been as low as .9. I think it was 5 or maybe higher before the transplant....so, we are so happy with that! She is walking full speed and was so fast, my dad couldn't catch up with her yesterday, he said she was killing him....that's so good to hear because she was so down and so depressed before. She'll have crossmatches every Friday but so far, so good....we're crossing everything. I'm just so proud of my sister for helping her. We all wished we could have been Mom's donor and we're so happy one of us could have helped. Now, I've got to get rest and take care of me. I've been having some mild contractions but I think it's just dehydration, so no reason to panic but good reason to sit up and drink lots of water!
Spacezombie--so glad to see you got your transplant!! I am so happy for you and hope you are feeling great!
Thanks again! I'll update and I'm sure I'll have questions if something crazy comes up!!!

Well, everything is going well with my mom. Her potassium was high the other day and she had to have an IV and then her phosphorous was low and she got prescribed some meds for that but overall, she's doing GREAT!. She has a kidney biopsy today, she had one right after her transplant and will have one more before she leaves MN, and then will have them annually. They told her she'll be able to go home around July 11 but will have to come back in September/October but then will go every year for check-ups. She's happy to be able to go home soon. I loved Rochester, it was a really nice town but am glad to be at my home, so I know they're ready! My sister is already on her way to VA with her boyfriend. She's still tired some but is back to her old routine--just no running for now!. We had another ultrasound at the perinatologist and I'm not having 2 girls afterall, one is a boy and one is a girl! My son is so excited and now he thinks he is always right. Funny thing is, this is what he wanted for Christmas last year......hope he likes it this year! Thanks again, everybody!

Very good news about your mother. I'm glad to know your sister made it through fine too.
Lucky you having a baby boy and baby girl twins. What a nice family you must have.

GREAT news, Beth! :yahoo; for your mom, and :clap; for your sister!!

Well, I do have one worry and that is my mom's antibodies...they continue to creep up a little and she has to have another biopsy on Tuesday. She's participating in a study with a drug (I posted about it a while back and have no idea how to spell or pronounce it) that has been used with other transplants--liver, etc..but not kidney. It's supposed to shorten the amount of plasmapheresis/IVIg a positive crossmatch patient might need before and/or after a transplant (I think...my mom doesn't ask too may questions and I wish I could have asked the doctors more questions) and biopsies are part of the study. Dr. Stegall told her she was making history because she is only the second kidney transplant patient to receive this drug and while that's cool and all, they need to get these antibodies to calm down! Every other thing is great, her creatinine was .8 yesterday, which is very very cool and her spirits are high. I'm just a little worried about those effing atibodies!! They can't do plasmapheresis because it messes with this drug, so let's hope this drug kicks into overdrive. I call her every day to find out her labs as she has them every morning. I do feel very positive overall but very nervous, too....
Beth
-
Sometimes it seems to me that that every transplant patient is more or less part of the trials. There doesn't seem to be anything close to one-size fits all with the drug regimes I've been reading about here at IHD. It appears that most are on cellcept and prograf, but then there are the mono-clonal anitbodies, prednisone or no prednisone, valcyte for 3 months, or 6 months or more, and a whole lot of other variables. The low creatinine sounds good and I hope they get the other issues straightened out really soon. :cuddle;
-
Thanks! She's on cellcept, prograf, prenisone, valcyte, and a couple other things (I forget) and they're tweaking her doses right now. I just wish they could get a grip on these antibodies. She had plasmapheresis and IVIg before and after the transplant but they don't want to do it again unless they absolutely have to. It seems like she's always hearing one good thing and then one so so thing. I think it's starting to discourage her a bit but I told her to concentrate on the positives and that they aren't gloom and doom about these anitodies, just saying they need to keep an eye on them. I'll just be glad when they get a grip on this and she can go home!
Beth
-
The process seems to never end but I think everything is going well and you are right...be thankful for the positives. :grouphug;
-
Congratulations to your family! Seems that there are lots of little bumps, but I am sure once they get this regulated all will be better. So happy for you all!!
-
Thainking positive thoughts for all of you! Congrats to your mom on her transplant! :bandance;
Take care - all of you . . . you, your sister, and of course, your mom! (hi Beth's dad - didn't mean to exclide you! :grouphug;
My best wishes to all! :bestwishes;
-
Congratulations on so many wonderful things happening around you. :clap;
-
Sounds like overall things are going very well!! Hugs to your whole family (including your twins -a boy and a girl-wow!)
-
Thanks!! She had a biopsy today and they'll probably give her the medication tomorrow, she didn't stick around to wait for the doctor after she was released....she is very impatient and said he can call her....she's over the waiting, etc already. I know she'll be glad to go but I have a feeling they'll be glad to see her go, too. She is a handful! We're all just hanging in and hoping for the best on all fronts. I look like I have swallowed an entire watermelon but I'm feeling better.
Beth
-
Wow, a boy and a girl :)
-
The good news is, my mom's antibodies are starting to go down...whew! Dr. Gloor came in on his day off to read her labs to her himself...my dad kinda blew up at the other doctors because they weren't telling him anything and I really don't blame him but he can be HARSH sometimes. I had to referee the argument that night between my parents (on the phone) and calm them down. They're fine now. I now understand the emtional toll this experience can have on the individual, the spouse, and the family....we are just now starting to all feel a little normal (whatever normal is) and I'm just glad my mom is getting better. She got the day off from bloodwork today and Sunday and is so excited to just be and not have to go to the hospital that she doesn't know what to do with herself. She's in a great mood and I must say, she and my dad need a break. And my dad deserves a medal for all the stuff he's done. He's been fantastic. My mom is lucky to have such a loving spouse, they will be married 39 years this September and next year, for their 40th, I am hoping to have a huge party for them! The doctor did mention that she MIGHT be able to go home to MS next week....that would be fanfreakintastic and I'm hoping for that! Just wanted to say thanks again for the support and for a place to just let it all out. On a side note, the babies are doing great. Both still ver healthy and getting bigger by the minute.
Beth
-
:clap; That's great Beth! Bless your mom and dad!
What is your due date? :cuddle;
-
Aw thanks! They're happy they don't have to go anywhere tomorrow. Mom had her blood drawn this morning and is done until Monday. My due date is November 13 but I have my c-section scheduled for October 31 at 7:30am. That will be 38w. Twins are term at 37w and 50% of all twins come earlier than that. I'm doing fine, everything looks great, so I have a good chance of beating those odds and having them at 38w but I'm not taking any of that for granted! It is crazy that this time last year, we were freaking out about my mom and worrying about when we would be able to have another baby if I was to donate to her. And it's funny how things turned out that it was my youngest sister to donate and then we got pregnant with twins. We were only doing IVF one more time for ONE more baby and we got 2 and have one embryo frozen. So, my husband and I went from hearing "You'll never have children." from one yucky doctor to almost having 3 and a possilbe fourth, if I don't lose my mind with these next two. We feel very lucky and are grateful for all the good things we have going on because the first clinic my mom went to told her she wouldn't get a transplant likely. The lesson we've learned is don't give up, no matter what. It might take some time but you never know if you dont' try.

I wish my childen could say their mom got a kidney.

Twirl--I am so sorry that your children can't say that but I hope that one day they will be able to.....so sorry if my thread struck a nerve.

Well, my mom has had a setback. Her creatnine went up to 1.7 from 1.0 and Mayo was concerned. She had a kidney ultrasound and it was discovered that she has a blockage in her kidney. So, she's in the hospital and will have to have a tube put in her kidney some time next week. She is so depressed and has horrible mood swings from the prednisone. My dad says she's gotten the dreaded moon face and is really self-conscious about it. It's just been such a stessful thing and my parents are so tired. I wish I could help more but I do talk to my mom every day and try to cheer her up as well as my dad. I'm so upset about it that I can't talk to my hubby about it because he doesn't understand how serious a kidney transplant really is. All her other levels are doing well and there are no signs of rejection but it's just so so stressful...ugh...thanks for reading.
Beth
-
So sorry Beth. It's good they are responding quickly and hopefully she will be fine. The few first months can be scary but in most cases things work out. Take care of yourself and your babies! Best wishes!
-
Hopefully they will be take care of your mom quickly and get her on the road to fully healing so that she can enjoy her new kidney. Do be sure to take care of yourself, too. :cuddle;
-
Thank you!! I'm just starting to get depressed because my mom is depressed and my dad is worried. I am the only one who really knows what is going on (I'm the oldest of the 4 of the kids) and my mom knows I read everything I could on the internet once we found out she was in need of a transplant, etc....she just keeps telling me she knows this is her only chance and I just want to cry, well, I actually do but don't let her know that. I guess it's because I'm the oldest but I just want to fix things and make them better and I know I physically can't do that and it drives me nuts. I'm not normally a control freak but I just want my mom to be OK. Hopefully I'll know something soon. The babies are fine and very active....I know I won't sleep for a looooooooooooooooooooooong time once they do get here!

I don't know about you, but each time I was pregnant I was SO emotional! Things hit me harder. Even movies made me a wreck, if they were sad. This is a big deal, what you've experienced with your mom. Add the pregnancy and the emotions have got to be at an all time high! You're going to worry anyway, but try not to let it drag you down. We are here for you! :cuddle;
-
I'm thinking of you and your Mom as well as the rest of the family Beth and hoping that everything gets resolved with her setback. Take good care of yourself and be sure to get lots of rest. :cuddle;
-
Dear Beth, I remember your very first post and immediately related to you and your Mom. I do think some forget that a transplant is a very huge thing to experience. It isn't always a walk in the park. You are so informed and that is a great help to your Mom. I am so sorry your Mom is having problems. I have been living vicariously through her whole transplant journey. I am sure she just wants to feel like her old self and be healthy when those two grandbabies are born. I pray soon she gets to a point where things level off and everything stabilizes. She has the best doctor's and a wonderful family to lean on. You are doing a great job and I think you are incredible. Take care of yourself and those sweet babies. We are all here when you need us :grouphug; Please let us know how your Mom does. :cuddle; :cuddle;
-
:cuddle; Beth. I hope your Mom is doing better and you can get some rest before these babies are born. Thinking about you and continue to pray that things turn the corner. :grouphug;
-
Thank you so much! I don't know what I would do without this site! You are such wonderfully generous people, it is very comforting to know I have a place to talk about it and not worry my mom or family. They get worried when I get worried, so I have to always keep a brave face so no one freaks out. I think my hormones are magnified by a million at this point because everything makes me cry or pisses me off but usually it makes me cry and my hubby and son are thankful for that! They know if mama's not happy, nobody is happy. I trained my men well. No word today, mom didn't answer her cell phone and I don't know what room she's in to call, so I'll wait until they call me. I will most definitely keep y'all posted when I know something. I'm doing everything I can to get rest and stay out of the heat so these two little ones will be in the oven for a long time and healthy when they're ready to come out! Thanks again, everyone it means a lot to me to be able to come here and get it all out!!!
:grouphug;
Beth
-
Beth, a few months ago my doctors thought there was a blockage. They did a nephrostogram (probably spelled it wrong). It was just slow drainage. I'll keep my fingers crossed. The first year or so is full of ups and downs. Best of luck to Mom. Glad your little ones are coming along well. :cuddle;
-
Thank you Romona. I told my mom and dad that there is a lot of adjusting to do during the first six months to a year. That meds have to be tweaked and levels have to be checked closely and it's making her feel more confident. It's just hard to hear all the depression because it stresses me out to some degree, I hate to say it like that because I would do anything for my family. I just wish that I could do more but I know she's in good hands and I have a feeling things will be OK, it's just so hard right now. She's having surgery next week and I'm glad it's something they can at least fix, so that makes me feel better. I appreciate all the support I have gotten here. Thanks again!
Beth
-
Well, I don't know where to begin...her surgery went well on Monday but they nicked an artery. They didn't do anything yesterday and this morning when my mom woke up to take a shower, her catheter bag was full of blood. She's been sent to have an ultrasound to see if there is any internal bleeding. The doctor said the kidney is doing great but since her blood pressure is up and her creatnine is 1.4 still, he said it's telling them something isn't working right still. So, she will likely have to have surgery again today I guess to repair the artery and she told my dad that she didn't have a good feeling about this at all. My dad is really upset and I am so scared right now I don't know what to do. I had a bad feeling when I woke up this morning and I just hope they can fix whatever is wrong. We were so excited about this transplant and now it seems there have been nothing but problems ever since. UGH!
Beth
-
:cuddle; So sorry Beth. Please let us know how she's doing.
-
Sorry to hear this, Beth. How difficult for all of you. I will be praying for you and your family and hoping that this is just a temporary setback. Hang in there, and please continue to keep us posted. :cuddle; :grouphug;
-
Thank you, I will post when I hear from my dad. He doesn't know when anything will happen and I told him I would call him later this afternoon. They had to give her 3 units of blood yesterday and she isn't wanting to talk on the phone because she's a bit tired and depressed. I really do hope this is minor because everything else is going so well. What a rollercoaster.
Beth
-
Good Lord Beth. I will say a prayer for your Mom. We have also been on this rollercoaster and it just sucks. Take care and let us know when you hear something. :cuddle;
-
Oh Beth I'm so sorry to hear this. Let us know how things go and you know that you all have so many of us here pulling for your Mom and the while family for that matter. :grouphug;
-
Hopefully they will get this under control and then everything will start to improve. My dad was bleeding after open heart surgery last year and they had to open him up again. They fixed it and he he has been fine. I will be keeping your family and especially your mom in my thoughts and prayers. :cuddle;
-
I took some Zantac and talked to my dad. He told me that the surgeon came into the room and told them it was a stupid mistake for him to have nicked the artery and he apologized. They stitched it on Monday and were monitoring it. The ultrasound my mom had this morning showed it was fine and the kidney was fine. He also said the tube they put in her kidney was working well. And the best news we could ever get was that her antibodies are low....lower than they were before her transplant. So, things are going great. I just wish I could be there to relieve my dad. He is worn out and it is taking a toll on him. This has totally been an up and down situation.....transplants are NOT for the faint of heart!! Thank you so so so much for the support. It means a lot to me!!
Beth
-
Thank you Beth, for the update. I was so worried but it sounds much better. Hopefully your dad can rest a bit now. Even with no complications, the first few weeks are a rollercoaster of checking labs, crash-course learning and worrying. I am saying another prayer for your mom. :cuddle;
-
Beth, this is really, really good news. But, I feel bad for your dad. I know that I was totally exhausted after Stephen had his transplant and I didn't have any of the major ups and downs to deal with like your dad is. It's bound to be exhausting simply because you have adrenalin pumping into your system during the tough moments and then it crashes. As the spouse of a transplant recipient (or parent, or any close loved one) you stay on edge for days and now for your dad it has been weeks. I hope that your he is remembering to take a little time to decompress each day - maybe going for a walk in a local park or something like that. He needs to take care of himself too. :grouphug;
-
Whew, and an APOLOGY. What a refreshing and novel idea. Hugs to you all.
-
Hey Beth, I saw your post on another thread where you mentioned that your mom is doing well. How about an update over here? and how are you doing? and how about your dad? and how about your sister? I am really happy to hear that all is well. :grouphug;
-
Hope you, Mom and Dad are doing better. :grouphug;
-
I am so sorry! I forgot to update...preg brain strikes again! My mom is on her way home from her three month check up (she had it a few weeks early so my sister could have hers at the same time) and is fine. She did have to do plasmapheresis for the last 3 days and it gave her AWFUL hives but they did eventually go away. Her anitbodies were up a little but she said the pheresis was just a precaution. All other levels were great and Dr. Gloor said he thinks the transplant was a success and is very pleased with it. So all is well. My sister is doing great, too. She's living with us now while she prepares for nursing school. And thank goodness because my hubby signed a huge contract with NC (he designs software for state governments) and will be traveling to Raleigh starting September 15. So, her being here is a total godsend! My 3 year old fell yesterday and cut his arm and got 11 stitches. I thought I was going to go into labor but did not, whew. I just aged 50 years in 5 minutes! The twins are doing great. I have had no scares and have had an uneventful pregnancy, except for it being twins. They are weighing in at 2 lbs. 15 ozs. and 3 lbs. and 3 ozs. so far and I am 29 weeks. OB said to be looking for them anytime after mid-October and if not, they'll come on Halloween which is when my c-section is scheduled. My 3 year old starts school on Tuesday (preschool--4 days a week :bandance;) and he's psyched! Only thing is, now we are having to start getting our house ready to sell so we can move to NC in hopefully January. What a hectic life I have ahead of me! I just hope our house sells quickly! I don't have much energy and can't really get around very well without getting out of breath or crampy. It's crazy how yucky I've started feeling so early, I feel like I'm about 9 months pregnant as opposed to only 7...I've been asked if I am going to have mor children after these two and I just laugh and walk away...what else can you do?
Beth
-
Glad to hear your Mom is doing well, and sis too. Good luck on your pregnancy, hope all continues well there too. Congratulations to your brother on his contract. Thanks for the updates :thumbup;
-
Thanks for the update. It's great to hear all the good news. I'm sure that time is flying by for you with all that is going on.
Take care and be well! :grouphug;
-
Always great to get an update and can't wait to see and hear about the twins' arrival.
-
I am looking forward to your move to Raleigh and seeing your family in person! Can't wait to see the babies. Take care of yourself! Give our best to your Mom and her kidney :2thumbsup;
-
Hey Beth,
That's a great update - thank you for letting us know. I would love to see a photo of your mom and sister. And your son and you too! Can't wait for those babies, wish I could hold them - I LOVE BABIES!
:grouphug;
-
Thanks!! I will take a photo of my family one of these days...I did post a photo of my son Conor and me on the photo thread last year, I think. The twinks will be here soon and we're very nervous about it but hopefully it will all work out. I'm just dreading the no sleep phase....ugh...wait, we're still in it with my 3 year old because he loves school so much, he won't sleep because he is excited about it. It's cute but I need sleep! Paris, it would be an honor to meet you! We should be in Raleigh around December. We're putting our house on the market but hubby will get a corporate apartment in Raleigh so we can be there while the house is being shown, etc and so that I won't be alone too much with the babies with him out of town. Once these two get here, I will definitely post photos. We are going to have to take tons since my mom and dad won't be able to come up for the birth. Only 6-8 weeks left...yikes! Thanks for the well-wishes, everybody! I will post if anything crazy comes up!
Beth
-
Nothing crazy has come up...I just wanted to update. My mom is doing great these days. Her labs look good and she's feeling wonderful. That makes us all so very happy. Since they aren't going to MN every other week, my parents are getting rested and back into their daily groove and life is getting back to some normalcy and that really helps my mom a lot. She's making future plans and it sounds great to hear that, too. I know it means that she feels like she can look forward and get excited about all the fun stuff to come. Once she gets on monthly blood draws, she said she wants to come to see the little ones, which would be so fabulous. My sister is doing well also. She's running again and feels great. She's been a huge help to me even though I haven't had the babies yet. The babies are 4 lbs. 10 ozs. and 5 lbs. 8 ozs. so far and that's big, so by Halloween, they ought to be huge. I have my pre-op briefing on Oct. 30 and then go in the next am at 6 for the c-section which should start by 7:30. So, if I don't go into labor before then (I hope not, as both twins are breech at this point) and have to have an emergency c-section, around 8:30ish on Halloween morning, I will have two new kiddos and will be tired already! I'm having a very hard time getting around but I do it all still, just slower and a little at a time. I think if they put me on bedrest right now, it would kill me because I am so used to being busy and I think even though it kills me now, keeping busy has helped me stay healthy. I hope all is well with everyone and I thank all of you for your support and kindness!

Beth, thanks for updating. I am so glad your Mom is doing so well. And she will beable to hold those sweet babies soon! When my Mom had twins, she had a hard time just moving the last month. They both weighed 7 and 1/2 pounds! It sounds like yours are heading toward big numbers, too!! Please don't go into labor before your scheduled date! It has been so much fun going through this with you. And remember, I live in Raleigh, so I am looking forward to seeing all of you in person some day! :cuddle;

Babies on Halloween! How fun is that?
:grouphug; to all.

Went to the perinatologist today and the babies are big...baby girl is 6 lbs. and baby boy is 6 lbs. 10 ozs. Doc said if I went into labor, they wouldn't stop it but would proceed with c-section. It is necessary (even though there was no way I was going to try a natural birth with twins after a prior c-section) because baby girl is feet down but baby boy is head down. OB is making me tough it out until Halloween. I'm misearble and can barely walk. I don't sleep. My hands fall asleep all the time. I have restless legs, had those with my son, ugh! I can't make a fist and it is very hard to do anything strenuous or not. It's going to be OK, though. I only have 3 weeks at the most to wait--22 days to be exact! The babies will be monitored every week until delivery and I never get tired of seeing them on the ultrasound screen. It truly is amazing. My mom is doing great! Her creatnine was .9 last check and her anitbodies are lowering as well, she hasn't had any issues since she had to have some IVIg in September--that stuff was awful this time around, she said she swelled up and had hives...yuck! She's gone down on her Prograf and Cellcept. It's great because she is back to her old self and feeling much bette, which makes all of us so happy and grateful. We will be heading to Raleigh in January and renting a house while our house here is on the market. It just makes more sense that way, it would be difficult to show a house with 3 kids and 2 of them being newborns and my hubby out of town. Plus, my hubby doesn't want to miss a minute of these twins! He missed a lot of our son's babyhood while he traveled and he doesn't want to do that again. I think of all of you and am so happy when I see good news! I hope there are more phone calls in the middle of the night to come!

So glad all is developing nicely Beth but from your description I can imagine how much you want the big day to come so you can get smaller again. Thanks so much for keeping us on the journey with you.

Awww poor Beth! I never slept the last 3 weeks of my pregnancies. I hope you're doing ok now. It's getting close! :yahoo;

Not sure how I missed your post all the way back on October 9th! It's good to get the news that your mom continues to do well.
I guess this is the last week before delivery, so you must be getting really anxious. I only had one, but I remember those last few weeks so well. I could barely sleep at all and took to watching the Farm Report - which was the only things on tv at 4 in the morning.
I wish you the best and can't wait to hear the good news about the babies.

A little late on this thread :shy; but I am glad to read all the good news - about your mom and the twins. i am so looking forward to 'seeing' them. Beth, aren't you the fortunate one, going to live near Paris! My caring thoughts and prayers are with you and your family all the way.

I am so excited that I will meet Beth and hopefully, hold those sweet babies!! Beth, let me know if there is anything I can do for you before you get to Raleigh. :cuddle;

Well, thanks everybody!! The babies are here! I had them 2 weeks ago on October 17. It is 2 days before my son's 4th birthday and it happens to be hubby's and my 8th wedding anniversary. I went to the the doctor the day before thinking I was in labor and told to go home, nothing was really cooking. Woke up the next morning and my water broke!! It scared me to death but I only live 5 minutes from the hospital, so I called everybody and got my sister. We went in and waited for hubby to get here from Raleigh but he didn't make it in time. My sister was with me in the OR, she got to see my boy born but not my girl because she was breech. There is no way I would have been able to watch a c-section but oh well. Hubby made it 30 minutes after the babies got here. Little girl weighed 5 lbs. 12 ozs. and little man weighed 6 lbs. 12 ozs. They are adorable and eating well. I am up all night long but I do love it, even though I am worn out. My mom said once she is on monthly blood draws, she'll come visit, which is great! I'll attach a pic but apologize if it's too big and I can't resize it!!

omg! Sweetness times 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats!!

Thank you! They look like little dolls, especially my little girl because she is so tiny!! My oldest child was 8 lbs. 8 ozs. and he was HUGE compared to them! My daughter is named Grier and my son is named Owen. They are too cute. They like to sleep next to each other and they peep at each other in their sleep. Twins are a lot of work but definitely a lot of fun!
