Well , Maria is at the Dialysis Center today, and it is going to be the first time her Fistula is used.
We are both hoping everythin runs o.k. and then she can stop taking her Warfarin.
Just realised that I forgot to update you about her anti GBM antibodies :Kit n Stik;
We spoke to the Nephrologist about the rise in the antibody levels,and told him of our concerns.
Telling him that we KNEW they were presently at 225, and that they were at a level of 428 when it damn near killed her.
He assured us that they were going to do a monthly check on the levels (along with her normal bloods) and that they were
fully aware of the situation. However, he did not want to start treatment with Cyclophosphamide and Prednisolone until
he was sure it was absolutely needed,as it is such a powerfull treatment (as if we did`nt already KNOW that, with Maria going through it before)
So, for the moment we are going to bow to his wishes, but are we gonna JUMP on him if anything starts to go wrong.
Well, thats all for now, sorry it took so long to update you ::)
Tony.

Hi,
Just wanted to say I will be thinking and
praying for Maria this AM. I know how scary
the "first time" with the fistula can be.
Sending you and her best thoughts from NJ

Hope it all goes well today for Maria with the fistula and be sure to keep on top of the doctor. :grouphug;

celtic warrior, I'll keep Maria in my thought this morning that the fistula has a perfect run. :cuddle; Let us know how it went.
-
Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers.
how did it go? :yahoo; :2thumbsup; :yahoo; :2thumbsup; :bandance; :bandance; :bandance; ;D
I think the nurse was more nervous than Maria, who tells me she never felt a thing, well, nearly nothing.
Mind you, after the ammount of Emla cream she put on I should`nt think she COULD feel anything ;)
She removed the dressings a few minutes ago,,and it is just possible to see where she was stuck. I was amazed, I expected to see 2
great puncture marks.
see you all later
Tony.

THanks, Tony, for sharing this. As someone who is just a few steps behind you, it's helpful to "see" someone else going through this process ahead of me.
