HI Everyone!
My name is Bianca and Im from Chicago, I was diagosed with chronic ESRD when I was 15, my kidneys were too small for biopsy and exact diagnosis but doctors believed I was born with one of a couple diseases (dont ask cause I dont know and my mom doesnt remember the names lol) SIDEBAR: we have learned over the last 10 yrs or so that kidney disease runs in my fathers side of the family...Anyway, within 24hrs I was diagnosed, wheeled into emergency surgery and on hemo, I was on dialysis for 2 yrs before I got a transplant (hemo and PD). I did really well with my transplant for almost 7yrs before my kidney rejected. I went back onto dialysis 6yrs ago (in center hemo, then pd then back to the center then home hemo and back to the center) I am on the transplant list but currently "on hold" because of my weight, I did have lapband surgery late last year and very close to going back to active status
Im so happy to have found this site, cause lord knows I HATE DIALYSIS! and I need a place to get out my frustrations and stop allowing dialysis be all my life is about and to be able to vent and people understand what Im going through emotionally but physically
Other generall info about me, Im an only child, spoiled (in a good way), Im really a big kid at heart, um Im looking into going back to school (I got my BA back in '02) hopefully this fall will be the time and I look forward to getting to know u guys! :2thumbsup;

Hey Bianca and welcome!! I can't imagine how that must have been at 15 one day to be "OK" then the next in hospital and on hemo... yikes... and you thought going to the prom would be tough I bet! LOL. Seriously though welcome to the wacky train of IHD! Sit down and enjoy yourself. Hope you can get back active on that all important list and get a transplant to get on with life!!!

Welcome to our community, Bianca! I can tell that you are an IHD person already. So welcome to your new family. :grouphug; This is the place where you can rant, vent, rage or rave when you need to. There is loads of information here. And there is also loads of fun stuff (some of it really crazy :urcrazy; !!!) So please read and read and read, and also post and post and post. We need to know how you are doing.
I was also a spoiled child (in a good way). Not an only child, but years behind all the others so some of my siblings were more like aunts and uncles to me! At 58, I am still a kid at heart. But I have good company - so was my father even at 89!

Say hey howdy!
You know what I don't understand? Why they dye pistachio nuts red. Not that it has anything to do with this conversation, it's just something I don't understand.
