We had the Boston Kidney Walk today and it was a great time! The weather was beautiful, lots of people and fun things to do. We had 18 people in our group, woohooo!!!! I'm so bummed, the battery on my camera died, I'll have to wait for my MIL to download hers.
They honored a man named Shad Ireland. He's been on dialysis for 25 years and has completed 14 Iron Man Races. AMAZING!! He was told he wouldn't live past the age of 25, he's now 35! Here's his story: http://www.jacksonfreepress.com/index.php/site/comments/man_of_iron/
It was a great day, heard lots of great stories from people who had transplants and who were on dialysis. The saddest was seeing a boy of about 6 who is on dialyis :(, that broke my heart.
All in all it's a great event to be part of! This is our 3rd year and here's to many more! :2thumbsup;

So glad your day was so good. Shad story is amazing. Thank you for sharing it. I think being involved with our kidney walk was one of the best family experiences we have had. Looking forward to seeing pictures!
