Title: Should The Above Member Change His Avatar?
Post by: okarol on May 10, 2008, 11:26:29 PM

If you think the member above has a bad avatar, post "Change."

If you like the avatar, post "Keep."

It's a good way to get a general response to your avatar, without the depth of "rate 1/10 and comment on" threads.

KEEP I just love that cheeky grin and the blonde curls. (although this confused me as I have my messages set to newest first so it's the member below not above in my case!!)

Title: Re: Should The Above Member Change His Avatar?
Post by: David13 on May 17, 2008, 05:46:23 PM
The story behind the picture. . .
The deer are with a cat named Sam.  The cat had always been an indoor cat, but became sick and had only a short time to live.  His owner let him go out into the yard to enjoy the sunshine and the deer came up to him where he sat and seemed to be comforting him.  The cat died a few days later.   :'(
I think it is an amazing testimony to our animal friends.

No, not yet, still trying to figure if that is a scene out of a movie. The picture kinda lookes like an actor from Mad TV. Think the actress name was Mo Collins. She was in the 40 year old virgin, but has been in other movies.

I know... but that singer, blond babe isn't really me.  The kid on the back of his mother's bike is more like me.  He is just so cute.  The way I found out his name was Rerun was funny too.  I was eating something and watching one of the Charlie Brown Christmases and about choked when Lucy said "Rerun, Mom is never going to let you have a puppy".

I was very pissed in that photo.  I was in Miami with my Mum for her cousin's wedding.  I was supposed to be the flower girl but 3 days or so before the wedding she discovered he was a bigamist so that was off.  Mum made me wear the kilt and I hated skirts and someone gave me that doll and I wasn't keen on dolls.  I said I was hoping for some books.   Mum had just taken me inside for a chat about the importance of being gracious so I said I loved it and the elders felt it necessary to record my glee for posterity.

Don't I look thrilled to death?   :sarcasm;

I used the image to make mailing address labels. There is a website that sells the address labels, but I just took the image and applied it to the Avery address labels using their software.

Because dwaggies are so :cuddle; able! I've got about 50 dwaggies of all types in my home. Dwaggies are the best!!!

By the way, "dwaggie","draggie", "dwagie", "dragie" and "dwagon" are all dragon collector nicknames for the fire-breathing marvels that are dragons.

Long live dwaggies!!!

Wonderful weekend with amazing friends, one of whom is my donor buddy. I have a photo of her on my facebook page that I will try to put here too.

As you all know, I change my avatar frequently because...I have no idea why, I just do.  But I wanted to tell you about this photo.  These two pairs of sisters, both a year apart (I'm the second from the left) hung out together all the time, every day.  We shared everything and since I was the oldest they all did anything I suggested.  We went fishing, built a treehouse, went swimming in the irrigation canals, fed newborn calves and piglets, rode donkeys...we did it all.  Their names were Dudu and Little.  Their mother always made them wear dresses, ours didn't care what we wore so we often only wore panties.  We used to get pretty filthy so if we were playing in muddy or messy conditions, I'd make them strip down too so they wouldn't get in trouble.  That dog, Rex, went everywhere with us and was at one time a member of the police force so he was our protector.  It all came to an end when we went to school and they didn't.  Our worlds slowly slid apart but I've never forgotten our friendship and the memories of how all that separated us was the fact that two of us had lives of privilege while two were born into severe poverty.   Apart from that, as huge as that was, we felt like four peas in a pod for a couple of years.

Rubber ducky reminds me of the rubber duck my husband gave to me as a gift when we first met 28 yrs ago. I till have it and still use it in the tub every once in a while. Plus, it was a choice when I signed up at this site as an avatar and I didn't know how to get my own picture on., Now I'm too lazy to change it.

Texas.   I like it!

From Spongebob episode!

Wish I was back in Texas,
The ocean's no place for a squirrel,
'Wish I was in Texas,
Prettiest place in the world, oh no.
I guess deep in my heart I'll always be a Texas girl
I wanna go hommmme hooommmmmme hommme oh oh
Yoldle ay e oh, yodle ay e oh, yodle ay e oh, a lay-ee, a lay-ee.

I wanna wake up in Texas
I miss those wide open skies.
I miss my 20 acres, bar-b-ques,
And pecan pies, oh why?

When I'm so far from you, Texas, all I can do-o is cry.
I wanna go ho-oome,
Ho-oome, (a guy)I wanna go ho-ome!

All the ones you have had are good w&w.

Went to get glasses adjusted the other day and now they have prescription sunglasses that would look like my avitar that actually wrap around to block sunlight blinding you on the side. Just need a grey vest and a trip out to Arizona to make a real picture  :rofl;
