Title: Craziest Thing
Post by: kitkatz on May 04, 2008, 07:08:37 PM
What is the craziest thing you have ever done?    You can just name it and leave us wondering or tell us a story to go with it.

The craziest thing I have ever done is .....

 :secret; I unclasped the Red light on a squad car while talking to a police officer and he never caught me doing it. I was hoping it would fall off once he drove away. That was back before LED's when they had those large Mayberry style lights on top, but two of them on each car.

What were you talking to the police officer about!?

My crazy things are all pretty tame. I went skinny-dipping in a hotel hot-tub with a friend and a stranger came and got into the hot tub with us. I don't think anything was visible because of the bubbles, but I don't know how he could have missed seeing me grab my bikini top from the side of the hot tub to put it back on before we got out.

I was fired from a job because they thought I was a security risk. I had to set up a network fax machine and to test it, I faxed a file to it without first paying attention to what I was faxing. It was a rant about the place. Since I was a network administrator, they were worried that I would do something damaging to their network with my bad attitude, so they got rid of me. I was harmless, but very underpaid, so I wasn't really sorry to leave. A few days later, I went to visit my parents, told them I'd been layed off and I was packing up to move out of state (from Minnesota to Georgia) with my friend Duane, who they thought was my boyfriend, and by the way, did they know Duane was gay?

I remember when we were teens there was a narrow country road
that had a small hill on it with a very sharp turn right after the hill and we would
go real fast over that hill that would lift you off your seats then have to turn the corner with wheels
squealing.  That was so fun but so dangerous.  I can't believe we took those risks.
My kids never heard about that.
There were so many crazy but fun things.

We would ride our horse beside the water flume near our house. One of us would walk the flume, the other ride the horse. One day we were doing this with friends and one of our friends fell in the flume when the top gave way.  We knew better than to go home soaking wet.  So we just kept going until we were dried off.

What, I have to pick just one?

Skydiving; parasailing; hiking out on the ice on the Straits of Mackinac, out to where the cutter had gone thru and stacked up 20 ft high piles of ice so we could climb up and throw snowballs into the open water; driving from Saginaw, Michigan to New York City and back in one day, just to get a meal at my boyfriend's favorite diner.

Well, one thing was when a bunch of us in the neighborhood thought it would be fun to whack a huge hornet's nest (it was almost 3 feet across!) with a big stick to see what would happen. You've never seen teenagers run so fast!

Another, but potentially more dangerous, was when a couple of us from the neighborhood thought it would be fun (noticing a theme here?) to pretend to be pulling a rope across the street. Two of on each side of the road, playing tug of war with an imaginary rope. It was night out and we positioned ourselves at the bottom of a very short, steep hill, which people would usually come flying over. It was hilarious to watch people's reactions when they saw us. They would slam on their brakes most of the time. Some probably had seen the trick before and just kept going. Well one guy slammed on his brakes and skidded through our "rope" and stopped. He came storming out of his car waving a gun! This was out in the country, an hour from any city. It's not like we were in a crime ridden area! By this point we were hiding in the woods by where we were. As soon as someone saw the gun, we took off and never did that again!

depends on what you consider crazy? skydiving, white-water canoeing, joining the army, cleaning a septic tank by hand, mountain climbing, rappelling out of a helicopter.

Where have you canoed Uni?  I've done 11 whitewater trips, many in northern Ontario (the Missinaibi,  Chapleau/Nemegasendah(sp?),) some in Manitoba (the Bloodvein) or Saskatchewan (the Clearwater) and the most memorable were the Nahanni in the Northwest Territories and the Hood River emptying into the Arctic.  My husband has done more trips than I have (he's the one with the good kidneys)  and he loves the Arctic.
Women don't seem to want to do this much but I'm really glad I did these amazing rivers.  Paddle on!!!!

I haven't canoed since I moved to Ontario. When I lived in NB I canoed all the time, once I canoed from Quebec down the St John river to the Bay of Fundy where I lived, most of my white water canoeing  was on run-off of the St John and many other spots I found by chance. For about 2 years before I was posted to Ontario I was a tour guide for cruise ships that used to dock in Saint John and I would take tourists out to little lakes but mostly take them open ocean canoeing or kayaking to go whale-watching and to see various other sea-life. It was great times and I do miss it some days. To me there is nothing more peaceful than being alone on the water hearing nothing but the waves and the water dripping off of your paddle. My next canoe trip will be the Rideau Canal as soon as I moved back to Kingston and can get the free time to do it.

Back in high school, my ex-husband (who was my boyfriend at the time) and I got caught by a police officer doing the wild thing behind a local school.   :shy;  Thank GOD they didn't take us away or notify our parents!

skyedogrocks, you bad girl you.  :rofl; When I first went to live with my Grandmother at 11, her neighbor raised bunnies (no, not our  :bunny:) for food. One night, I climbed out my bedroom window and let them all free. I think they knew who did it but I never got in trouble. Thank goodness.

For me, one of the craziest things I ever did was walk through a subway platforml in New York after 11 p.m. with my little nephew to go to my brother's house after a visit to Coney Island.  There was no one there and I was scared out of my skin. I still get scared when I think of what could have happened.

It's nice when you are young and spontaneous. This happened when I was 23 years old. My room mate and I worked for a motorcycle racing company in Southern California. She came home one day and said we had a chance to fly to Daytona Beach that night on a 12 seat airplane - for only $75 round trip. We were excited because that meant we would get to see our racers compete in the Daytona 200 race the next day. We hurried to get ready, went to the airport late in the evening and boarded the plane. It was the smallest plane I had ever been and it was pretty scary for me. A problem came up about 1/2 hour into the flight. I cannot remember what the reason was, but the pilot told us he had to take the plane much higher than normal (head winds? storms? I don't remember the explanation.) The result was that the cabin pressure wasn't satisfactory, and it was incredibly cold. I felt like my head would explode and I have never shivered so hard in my life! I think I was on the edge of hypothermia, all I could do was shiver and sleep and wake with a start every time the plane hit turbulence. It was awful! We made it to Florida early in the morning and someone gave us a ride to town. The situation is crazy because we went there knowing we had no place to stay over Saturday night! We hoped it would somehow work out, and didn't realize the entire town would be booked!! We ended up sleeping (somewhat) on someone's sofa in their hotel and we got to see the race on Sunday, then got to the airport that night to fly back. It was a lot of fun, but I was so tired I was delirious. A few weeks later one of the Florida motorcycle dealers sent me this page from the Daytona newspaper, and it's the only proof we made it to Daytona Beach for 2 days!

Young and stupid!!! I'm suprised i made it past 21 where do i start?.

My best friend and i did some totally stupid things! Before i met my husband we were really wild, party girls. When we were about 19 we took off for a girls week away, short notice. Took leave from work and went interstate to a motor show called Summernats. We, by total coincidence met up with her then boyfriend and his mates. Lucky cause it got pretty wild down there. few 1000 odd testosterone filled men, only a few women (compared to number of men) lots of alcohol and god knows what else, could have spelt big trouble.

We were on the concourse driving around in their muscle car (show laps), mid summer so i only had shorts and bikini. As was the par for course i was out the passenger window on the ledge of the door when some guy snapped my bikini top open. I quickly fumbled to do it up, Jam (one of sim's boyfriends mate) this HUGE Iranian guy was in the front passenger seat pulls me through the window into the car almost onto the driver and got out, i've never seen so many little aussie guys run so fast in my life. The crowd went ballistic. He chased the guys who snapped it but couldn't run fast enough to catch him. We had an awesome week. We got to use the tyre changing guns from the race cars. Go in shows.... pretty fun time but really wild. i think it's even more wild now.

Dated a biker form one of Oz's largest MC's, went on Harley with him whilst he was wearing his colours, drank with him and his nicer mates (the ones that would look after a 21 year old girl not take advantage of her, so only two of them knew about me) Worked in a pub where afore mentioned club drank (luckily it was their 'quiet pub' so there was rarely trouble there, their brothel was a few doors up and the police station half a block away).

Went skinny dipping at a sydney beach at night. Partied way too much way too hard until i was 22. Had a stalker. Was working in a pub on the night a triad execution too place a street away. Stopped working in another pub just a few weeks before it was held up for the first time (i'd worked there 4 years and not a single breakin, lots of fights though). Used to own a gun, S&W .22 semi auto, nice little ladies gun (legally) sold it to my dad when i fell pregnant and moved out. gave up my licence as well. Looking to get it back now though that we own a home and are settled.

Had a marriage proposal from an Iraqi (John) who had been in Saddam's republican guard , said no (this was before WTC) and then becuase he was a bouncer in the pub i was working at i had to see him every day, he'd bring me flowers and stuff. He was a real nice guy. A total gentleman but i could just see our cultures clashing and i'd just met my future hubby (although he didn't know it yet.... it took me about 2 months to make him realise i was interested and he finally asked me out-- hubby John), he (Iraqi John ended up going home becuase his father was dying and he argeed to an arranged marriage. When my John and i started dating i had to introduce him to Iraqi John. They got along so it was Ok and Iraqi John left me alone after that.

Had my mobile phone tapped when i was 19 (not becuase of anything i did, my brother was a bit of a naughty boy when he was alive).

Witnessed a police interrogation!

I settled down just before i met my Husband, when i met him i was in the process for applying for the Federal Police and the RAAF. I ended up pulling my applications becuase i fell pregnant, otherwise god knows where i would have ended up. He was glad though, having been an army brat he isn't too thrilled with the lifestyle (his dad served in the Ghurka's). No regrets though! Now we have a Harley ourselves and ride when we want. That is about the extent of our 'wildness' now.

Hmmm. Got married for the first time at age 17. Hmmm. that was the last time I got married, too! LOL!

Was pretty mouthy in college (married at the time, right?)

Told a philosophy professor that my time was too valuable to waste it listening to him try to prove there wasn't any such thing as time. Walked out of the class and did not return...still passed. WTH?

Same semester, one of my art professors was sleeping with another student. Walked out of that class, too. His name was Peacock. Said to another student loud enough for every one to hear (including Peacock), that that was all his was good for.

 :shy;

I can hardly believe I did those things now.  :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;

At the ripe old age of 18, and being about 7 months pregnant, I got on a train and rode to NYC, then took the subway, big belly and all to go and see my husband, who was in a Naval Hospital. Nearly got lost, both ways, nearly got trampled in the subway, both ways. But when you are young and stupid, you think nothing of danger.

...so I am 20, as my dad said he thinks its in the job description to do stupid,crazy things.. haha.

Needless to say, I've done a few...  :urcrazy;

I guess the biggest one was when my ex and I got frisky while I was in the hospital, we took all the necessary precautions, closed the curtains, told the nurse I was going for a nap... except, close the blinds near the big window.. that faced another hospital.. thinking some poor small child was being molested, they called security,luckily the door they were about to bust down was of a four year olds, and my nurse was standing at it.. and she figured things out. and came to talk to me. then everyone kinda found out.. and so did my dad..(I had hell to pay... not to mention the awkwardness and total embarrassment) And then, everytime I stepped out of my room they said "don't forget to close the blinds!!" eh.. even the residents found out.. one pointed out "oh you finally closed the blinds.. good idea.. next time you shouldn't put it out there for free.. charge."... soo.. I still get joked about it..  then all my closest friends and I got together for April 20th... and we had a nice small party while my best friends parents were away..it was only.. 6 of us. But we had a total blast. And there was that time my friend insisted we go to a sex shop and then us being us.. we followed some people around, because according to my best friend.. "its the yuppy, normalish ones you really gotta watch out for.. that guy with the sweater around his neck.. you don't know what kind of crazy crap he might be into.. " lmao :rofl;  Only with best friends do you have the most craziest,funnest times... ;D

Then Recently since being happily single again, i've taken up an old hobby, to flirt with the residents.. it confuses them so much that a. they usually feel awkward, so they send the attending.. b. I get pure pleasure from making a. happen..and I'm horning my delicate art of flirtation. haha.  :rofl;.. it tickles me.

...And I expect more crazy things to happen, because A. my friends are crazy. B. I am too. C. whenever we are together, stuff happens. haha.

And Im only 20...  ;D WOO HOOO..  :2thumbsup;

I had a friend who was a private investigator.  He asked me to do an undercover gig for him that involved a cheating husband.  I agreed and after he had the "goods" on the guy, I found out the guy was the CEO of the company I was working for but had never met or seen him.  Believe me, I tried to remain invisible to him for the duration of his tenure (about 2 years later and he moved on to another company).
