heard about it this morning right before I left for "D"
something else to worry about
a tech told me not to worry, if I was given any that was fatal, I'd be dead now... :banghead;

I saw it on Fox 8 News this morning.  From what I heard, Baxter was the supplier and that it came from China.  I'm calling my clinic tomorrow to see if I should return my supplies of heparin on stock.  They gave it to me back in Dec 07 or Jan 08 I can't remember.  Thank goodness I have no need to use it for now, but I still would feel more comfortable if the clinic at least be aware.

It's bad enough we have to deal with kidney disease, now they are tampering with our supplies?  What is this world coming to.

Baxter was supposed to have recalled all the affected lots. My center switched to Abraxis as soon as the first news hit.

Baxter did multiple recalls (I lost track of how many recall notices I had to fill out and mail back to them)...even though I order from Baxter, I only had Abraxis, so I was safe. There's a supply quality problem there, but I think they are addressing it...but for now, it's Abraxis heparin for me!
