Title: Newbie
Post by: Willow87 on April 27, 2008, 04:44:10 PM
Hi Everyone
I definately belong here! I've been ESRD for 19 years. I have 18% function. My neph had me go to dialysis education and I decided that nocturnal dialysis is the best fit for me. I have a very difficult time sleeping cause it feels like I have to stretch my limbs all the time. I try to get up and walk, but, I'm so lightheaded I find myself right back on the bed. I'm not looking forward to dialysis but I'm not acting as if it is a nail in my coffin either. I have a good attitude most days, pity partys other days and gratitude most all the time. Anyway, thats me in a nutshell, concerning my kidney disease.

Welcome, Willow. I've heard from some people that they take a sleeping pill before they hook up at night.

Hi Willow! I know exactly how you feel. I did nocturnal and your sleep is badly interrupted. I took Ambien and it seemed to help. I did prefer nocturnal though because it didn't take the fluid off as fast and plus it was at nightime so you didn't feel like you were missing out on as much!
Best Wishes
