:sarcasm;
Hi everyone!
My name is Lee and I was diagnosed 11 months ago with primary FSGS...oh joy! :rant; Anyway, I am new here and at all of the kidney sites, so please feel free to say when you see me anywhere..lol. As usual, I haven't anyone to talk to about this kidney crap and my nephs. don't have time for the Q&A game, so I need you folks to keep me straight! :grouphug;
-
:welcomesign; Hi there Lee. Ask any questions here about the kidney crap. There's a lot of experience on this site.
-
What a surprise?
Dr. has not time for Q and A. :sarcasm;
-
:welcomesign; Lee, Glad you found us and we'll be happy to answer your questions. Damn Nephs anyway. Look forward to hearing more from you. Take care. :cuddle;
-
Thanks for the warm welcome, I need it! I wasn't sure if I would kicked out of here since I am not on dialysis yet :rofl; Well, I hope not! I have gotten a few "professional" opinions and boy are they different!! One is getting ready to start me on immunosuppression therapy and the other says it's too late...WTF?? :banghead; How are we supposed to know who and what is right???? I have gotten my mother through her liver transplant and still care for her, and feel in total control there, but with myself I feel completely lost. Lord, what a mess..lol!
Would love to hear as much about fsgs as anyone would care to share! I am terrified of dialysis, of course, but I have never met anyone on it. Thanks for being here :waving;
-
:welcomesign; Lee. I also have FSGS and am at 15% holding off the big "D" as long as possible. You have landed in a wonderful place for information and support. Someone will be waiting to help you with questions or just listen to your frustrations. Looking forward to hearing more of your story! Glad you are here. :cuddle;

Thanks Paris! I don't really know what to say about "my story", so please ask any questions you like...or anyone for that matter. It seems like I have read until I am blue in the face!! I do have somewhat of a medical background, so I read all clinical trials, but that can drive you nuts and have you going in circles! Do folks hang out in the chat area much?
-
Because we are around the world and lots of different time zones, you kind of have to watch to see who is in the chat room. If you post a time you would like to chat, people will join you or go to the chatroom and once people see you are there, they will join in. Again, so glad you joined us. This site has been my live saver!
-
You came to the right place Iruffner,
Welcome to the greatest site for information, and friendships. Here you will the straight skinny from everyone. I too have FSGS diagnosed 2 years ago in May. I have good function yet, but that can change when ever it decides. Hope we can answer all your questions and I hope you continue to post and ask those questions.

:thx; :thx; I may be a Hoosier originally Flip, but I can still give one helluva YeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaw!! Nice to meet everyone, in a virtual kind of way!
-
Welcome, Lee! Glad you joined our IHD family!
-
Thanks petey, I am very glad that Flip linked me to this site. Hats off to him! Everyone here seems to be very sincere in wanting to help everyone, that is such a nice change in this world we live in. Thanks a lot everyone :clap;
That is a very cute dog, by the way! He/ she looks just like a dog that I just helped to get adopted. I volunteer with my local Humane Society on the dog adoptions committee. The dog's name is Nathan and he found a great home!
-
Thanks for the welcome and I must say that you are absolutely ridiculous!! Is that a typo on your profile: age-54???? More like 34 or less. Geez, I wished I looked that young and I am 39...lol
-
Welcome to our community! We are so glad that you found us. I can tell right away that you are an IHD person!! Sorry you didn't get to meet Goofynina, our admin, who passed away in Feb. You two would have got on like a house on fire. Read some of her posts and you will see.
As you have found out by now, you don't have to be on dialysis to be part of this group. Our chief Admin, Sluff, is not yet on dialysis, and he has done a great job keeping this site together.
So keep reading and keep posting. Looking forward to hearing from you, especially in the Off-Topic section. I can tell you would be a natural there! Here's a hug from all of us. :grouphug;

Thanks bajanne! I love it here so far and everyone seems great! Yes, I am sorry that I didn't get to know the both of them also. I was reading epoman's story on the home page and was excited to hear more....then I saw the memorial links! I was in complete shock and very sad for everyone, but I am sure that he is very happy that you all continue his good work on here. That's the best thing that friends can do for each other....keep their memory and cause alive! :beer1;
I am sure that I will screw up and post where I am not supposed to, so please feel free to let me know that I am being an idiot when need be...lol. This site is soooo huge that it will take forever to read everything, but I want to read all of the dialysis forums just to be prepared. I am sure that I may have some questions and I am am too nosy, just tell me to hush up! lol.
Take care and have a great weekend! My hubby is taking me to see the "Blue Man Group" tomorrow...wooohoo!
-
:waving;
Enjoy the Blue Man Group! I would love to see them!
-

:welcomesign; this is a great place to land, lots of information to be found. now, just my :twocents; worth, but if your neph doesn't have time for questions and answers, go find one that does. but at least here you can find answers, and fun too.
-
:welcomesign; to the site
-
Thanks for the welcome folks!
lruffner is just my first intial and last name.
Thanks thegrammalady...I plan on it. I have another appt. today with the original group and plan on telling them what the other opinion said...just to get a response.
Kellyt...the Blue Man Group was awesome! What a trip. :bandance;

Welcome Lee! I am caregiver to my husband who is not yet on dialysis. I came here to prepare, too. Not only am I prepared but I now have a new family! IHD is beautiful! :bandance;
-
Hi Anna, thanks for the welcome. I know how it is being a caregiver and all of the worries. I am still my mom's caregiver and this kidney stuff just makes it more complicated. I have to keep up with all of her appt., meds, problems, and now I am in the same boat and have to keep up with mine at the same time. My energy is going down the tubes quick, but I have too many responsibilities to slow down.
I am so thankful that I took the time to look into the kidney stuff and find all of the great sites. IHD is by far my favorite...I am thankful that Flip sent me this direction! :thx;
Everyone around here is so sincere and helpful....thats enough to make me smile! :2thumbsup;
-
Welcome Lee! I'm another pre-ESRD FSGSer. I'm at about 25% function and hopefully holding there forever!
-
Hey Deanne, I would love to talk to you a little more in depth. I am exactly where you are and would love to know if you are being treated and so forth. I am having a hard time with the nephs and need a lot of help from those in our situation!
Thanks for saying hi!
