Did anyone else experience the earthquake this morning? There was one on the border of Illinois and Indiana at 5:37 am and we felt it all the way here in Dayton, OH. It was a 5.4 on the Rictor scale. Freaked me out! I've never experienced one before. I had been up all night working on a website, when all of a sudden, the whole house started shaking. It was the weirdest feeling! Things started falling of shelves too.

I did not feel it here in Wisconson but, I lived in CA for 20 years and have felt a few. When the earth really gets going it sorta feels like standing on a water bed...Boxman

The news this morning said that it could be felt up to 450 miles from the epicenter (West Salem). I'm sure Lori felt it. Chris may have too.

Some bizarre lady in my area said she felt it, but I think she is nuts. Boxman would have felt it long before I would have. I was up also and I didn't feel it.

I'm near the IL. IN. border and I didn't feel anything this morning. When I got in one of my co-workers asked me if I felt the earthquake and I jokingly said yes not knowing there was one. He is a goofball so I though he was joking around and I don't watch the news in the morning. I also missed it on the radio because I had a CD playing on my way in. Too weird to have an earthquake here.

We felt it in Northern Kentucky...my wife thought my leg was cramping again and that I was shaking it (and the bed) before leaping out in pain...then a lamp in our 2nd bedroom fell and shattered the bulb, snapping both of us straight up. Then our daughter came out of her room because he bed (which is against a wall) was shaking and bumping and woke her up. So, at the beginning of a very big weekend (First Communion and in-laws 40th wedding anniversary) the whole house was awake at 5:37...UGH!

I didn't feel it in central Ohio but that is when I do my best sleeping.

It was felt here in western Kentucky

I live in Indianapolis and I either didn't feel it or I slept through it (most likely the later).

I felt it around 4:30 am. I didn't go to bed yet and at first I thought it was my moms cat trying to get up on top of the couch I was laying on. It was constant so I knew it wasn't the cat, then I started to think it was truck traffic outside, but it was to intense. Then I realized it was another earthquake in Illinois or that we had another explosion at one of or gas refineries. Turned on the morning news at 5 and they reported that it was a possible earthquake. Then after 10:30 am I felt an aftershock. This earthquake felt different than the last. I finally did get some sleep though. I think the darn coffee machine gave me regular coffee instead of decaf to explain why I couldn't sleep. I hate that feeling.

heard about it on the news. and while i suppose quakes can happen anywhere, i thought illnois/indiana was a pretty strange place for one to occur. (really thought i left that all behind when i left california)
