Title: what's in a nickname
Post by: twirl on April 11, 2008, 04:20:14 PM
would it be awesome  to find out why we call ourselves the names we do on IHD?

twirl -  baton twirling
Boxman - you think outside the box?
Kitkatz - loves cats or the candy bar?   or both
Goofynina - funny child, a true joy to have around(?)
Epoman and Epoboy - after a drug we take (?)

I never heard of IHD in March 2006 and I enjoyed reading the two posts I got. Maybe we have other newbies who are interested.
( maybe they are threads, but none the less, I enjoyed them)

the obvious may be that you are short or you are the youngest child
                                   or
you do a great imitation of PeeWee Herman
                                   or
you pee pee a wee little bit
                                   or
it is a nickname picked up from your infant days, a peewee ( little) adorable baby

                                    ???

Post by: Romona on April 17, 2008, 08:35:02 PM
Mine is my name. My parents wanted to name someone after my Dad Raymond. They didn't do it with my older brother, so the did a female version of his name. Ramona. One of the nurses told my mother that there was no such spelling like that, so they changed it to Romona. It is interesting that I also have a younger brother that they could have named Raymond, but they didn't. My favorite nicknme is what my Dad still calls me "Mona Lisa". Sometimes he just calls me Lisa.  :bandance;
