Title: Question
Post by: Phillip_20 on April 07, 2008, 09:47:46 AM
If something was to happen to my gf's kidney and she needed a new transplant in the future, would I be able to give her one of mine, even though we have different blood types? That's just something I've thought about for awhile.

you  can  transplant  on  non matching  blood  types,it's  in  its  infancy  so  you'd have  to  speak  to  the  professionals, don't know  much about  it,but  its been  done  in  australia  a  few  times

good luck.

Phillip,

You can also do a 'paired exchange' where you donate to someone who matches you and their relative or friend, matching your girlfriend, donates to her.

Also depends on what the different blood types are.  I am B and can get from B or O and possibly a subgroup of A.  AB can get from everyone.  What type are you and what is she?

He doesn't listen to me... and now that I see this question and how dumb it is... I truly know he don't listen to me much.

The answer to the pointless question, is NO.
