My husband and I went to Ikea today (really cool store!), and we ran into the photographer from our wedding. The last time we saw him was about a year ago, and while we have some mutual friends, we don't keep up with each other's news.
So anyway, he saw me and said, "Wow, you look really good. Tan. Did you go on vacation?" Just one of the many wonderful things a transplant will do for you! :2thumbsup;
BTW, my creatnine last week was 0.7!

That is awesome keep it up...Boxman

That is good news. You must be looking better.Sometimes it takes a person who hasn't seen you in a while to notice a difference you are unaware of.
Now, do you feel like you look better?
Do you notice any physical changes in your face or physique?

You mean aside from the weight I've gained? I haven't been careful about what I've been eating, just enjoying being able to have cheese and chocolate again without feeling like I need to take five binders with it! Since I've been on prednisone for most of my life, my face really hasn't changed much that I'm aware of.
As for how I feel, there's no way to describe it. I feel incredible! I actually got down on my hands and knees and scrubbed the grout in our kitchen the other day for two and half hours, then cleaned my son's bedroom and bathroom later that day. While on dialysis I would have done about 30 minutes in the kitchen and been wiped out for the rest of the day.

If your cleaning grout, you are doing well!
Must feel good to want to do all that.

If you're cleaning grout, how would you like to come do my bathroom? ;) :rofl;

1.2 is still good. I had a transplant for 20 years that never got below 1.4.

I'm still trying to motivate myself to finish the kitchen and vacuum the upstairs and do laundry...so many more interesting things to do!

My house needs cleaning,too? If you get bored of your own mess.
-
KT - I am so happy for you!!!!!!!!!! You looked great in the last photo I saw. :bandance; Need that energy for my house!!!
-
That is wonderful. With my transplant I never got below 1.9. Hey, anything below 10 is better than dialysis!!!
With my transplant I remember feeling so much energy in the morning. I remember laying in bed and thinking about all the things I wanted to get done that day. Then I'd get up and do them. Now, I don't even plan. I just get up tired and try to do what I absoultly have to get done.
-
That is sooo great to hear!!! yay!! :yahoo;
Now about the grout in my bathroom!..
Heck I get tired after half an hour and I'm not a patient. ::)
-
KT awesome compliment :clap;

I can't help but think about how your transplant provides so much for your son and husband too. Not only do you improve, but your son gets to have so much more too.
Your son is a very lucky little boy. It's amazing to see how a transplant improves the life of so many.

Yep, I was doing PD with the cycler before, so even though my son's Cub Scout pack goes camping like three times a year, I could never go. They have a trip planned the weekend of April 19, and I'm going on that, plus just the three of us are going for Mother's Day weekend. I can't wait! :yahoo;
-
Good for you KT. :yahoo; Hope you enjoy your trip and have a great time. :thumbup;
-
:'( My grout is feeling very left out!
Congrats on the energy level. I pray mine will be like that when I get my transplant. I am like Rerun, I don't plan except to be tired.
Glad things are going well for you :clap;

Oh No. Wait a minute. So, your saying that if you get a transplant, you have to scrub your kitchen grout? I had no idea that was part of the deal. I refuse. No transplant for me. No way. I wont do it if it means I have to get on my knees and scrub my kitchen floor. All you folks who cannot find a kidney, take heed. This sounds like a very bad situation to me. If you found a kidney you might be expected to scrub your kitchen floor. Run the other way. Quickly.....turn and run !!!! :rofl;
-
Yes, there could be a drawback here.
With a transplant, people will expect you to be normal enough to clean the grout!
Hummmm! You can always claim the cleaning chemicals are bad for the kidney.
-
Good one, Sunny :rofl;!

Just remember, I was home for THREE MONTHS before going back to work. I was bored with TV after about a week, and got tired of sitting on my rear end reading after about a month. I had to find something to do!

My husband's transplant is scheduled for May 14th. All I can say is that I hope he will get into scrubbing floors after he has a transplant :bandance;
Seriously, this is my first chance to sit and read posts in this area. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
