A confession - I've never liked cartoons! I don't know why (maybe I was scared by one as a child :rofl;),I can just about watch the Simpsons if Chris is watching it on TV but that's all.

Crusader Rabbit and Rags (the Tiger). Does anyone else remember this one?
Alene

Wiley Coyote and Ricochet Rabbit...Boxman
-
The Pink Panther.......Tom and Jerry......The Flintstones.....Bugs Bunny (and, speaking of bunnies, :bunny: )
-
The Road Runner, Bugs Bunny, the one with the skunk that I can't even remember the name, anything that was on Saturday mornings.
-
My Dad would come home from work and we would get the leftover lunch cake (he was always too full at lunch to eat :)) and sit and watch Flintstones and Jetsons with us while my Mom made supper.
-
I never really liked traditional cartoons but I liked shows like Speedracer, Flintstones, Leave it to Beaver, Adams family, Munsters and the Twilight zone.
-
Mind you (before I post this) I am young.
I loved Fraggle Rock, Jem and the Jets, Garfield and Friends. And then also when I was growing, Nickelodian just started, so I grew up with shows like Rugrats, You Can't Say That on Television, Hey Dude, Salute Your Shorts, Alex Mac, Doug, Rocko's Modern Life -- good stuff :)
But hey, I could watch the cartoons and shows you were talking about on Cartoon Network and Nic at Night :)
-
Popeye the Sailor Man, Tom&Jerry, Donald Duck
-
"George, George of the jungle, friend to you and me, WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE." :rofl;
-
Anybody remember Schmoo?
-
The Road Runner, Bugs Bunny, the one with the skunk that I can't even remember the name, anything that was on Saturday mornings.
That skunk was called Pepe Le Pew. I have all of the Looney Tune Collections now that are out. I love that rabbit! Does any one remember the Road Runner song?
"Road runner of that coyote catches you.
Road runner if he catches you you're through.
That coyote is really a crazy clown..."
-
:thx; kitkatz, I was having a senior moment.
-
Bugs Bunny and all the Loony Tune classics. Speed Racer (I hear they're making a movie),Scooby Doo.
-
The Transformers
The Wheeled Warriors ( i think thats the name)
Care Bears
...and I still watch Saturday morning cartoons. They pretty much suck now, but there are a few I like. ( oh the shame)
-
Crusader Rabbit and Rags (the Tiger). Does anyone else remember this one?
Alene
Crusader Rabbit! Yes! I haven't thought of that cartoon in nearly half a century.
-
Scooby Doo, Looney Tunes, Underdog, Flintstones, Jetsons...I also liked Children's Film Festival with Kukla, Fran and Ollie on Saturday afternons.
-
Let's see,
early 70's to early 80's - Speed Racer, Bullwinkle, Spiderman, Looney Toones, Various Hanna Barbara come to mind. Then sometime in the 80's while in junior high, Japanese animation was introduced with Robotech that had a storyline.
After that, does the Simpsons, Beavis and Butthead, Family Guy, American Dad, and old South Park still count :rofl; :Kit n Stik;
-
Anybody remember Schmoo?
Think So,
Wasn't that the shark that had a Curley (Three Stooges) type laugh? Or was that the talking squid, both from Hanna Barbara
-
The Road Runner, Bugs Bunny, the one with the skunk that I can't even remember the name, anything that was on Saturday mornings.
Wasn't that Pepe Lapue (sp?)

We had no TV when I was a kid in Jamaica until I was 10. Then we had 1 channel from 6pm till 10pm. No cartoons. We'd watch the test pattern for about 15 minutes waiting for reception then Romper Room then Agricultural News where we learned all kinds of interesting stuff like how to deworm livestock or artificially inseminate cattle , a calf or shoe horses. Bonanza came on at eight o'clock but our bedtime was at 8:30 so we never saw more than half an episode. At boarding school there was no TV at all and we were never allowed to read comic books as my Mom thought that was a lazy way of getting a story and wanted us to read real books. When I came to Canada and people talked about their childhood pastimes I felt like I was from another planet. AND none of my friends could climb a coconut tree or dig for worms with a machete or roast a breadfruit. Heck none of them had ever even owned a machete.

In addition to the ones I've seen mentioned (I'm all about the looney tunes) and I wasn't exactly a kid at the time but the smurfs in the '80s and I loved the Animaniacs when they were around - I think in the early '90s
-
Ahhhh! Someone finally mentioned Mighty Mouse.
I also liked HR Pufnstuf (not really a cartoon)
Oh, how I have dated myself. . . ???

-
Land of the Lost- although not really a cartoon.
Land of the Lost was AWESOME! I used to think it was so real looking. I saw an episode about 5 years ago and it was so bad, :rofl;. I still remember the end of intro song.
Does anyone remember Creature Double Feature on Saturday Mornings? I love old Godzilla movies and that flying turtle guy too.
-

Talk about a trip down memory lane. When we first had TV in Barbados (1965), it was on from 6pm to about 11pm and we used to sit from about 5.50 watching the test pattern!!!!!! And we had Romper Room too!!! thankfully, no agricultural news!
Now about cartoons, I LOVE THEM ALL!! Even at this old age! I was able to use my daughter as a excuse for watching them when she was a child. Now I have my grandson as an excuse! From Flinstones to Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends!!!
-
Ok I guess I must just love cartoons because i have a huge list and there are more I can't think of the names of that I used to love.
Looney Toons, Tiny Toons, Tom & Jerry, Houses and Vehicles of the Future (MGM cartoons that showed what they thought the future would be like), Popeye, Pink Panther, Huckleberry Hound, Scooby Doo, Yogi Bear, The Hair Bear Bunch, Magilla Gorilla, Casper, Mighty Mouse, Danger Mouse, Rocky & Bullwinkle (Fractured Fairy Tales & Mr. Peabody too), Animaniacs, Voltron, Super Friends, Smurfs, Dungeons & Dragons, Underdog, Flintstones, Jetsons, Speed Racer, Spider-Man, Captain Caveman, He-Man, She-Ra, G-Force, Thundercats, Chili Willie the Penguin, Woody Woodpecker, George of the Jungle, Dudley Dooright.......and the list continues. I agree with the other too about Land Of The Lost. Great show. I liked Great Space Coaster too.
-
I remember running home from grade school with my brothers (Yes, we WALKED to school!!!) We had to do the breakfast and lunch dishes (no dishwasher back in those days) before we could turn on the TV. At 4pm Captain Ernie's Cartoon Showboat came on and we were riveted for the next hour. Looney Tunes, Mickey Mouse, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Jetsons, etc., anything from that era. My favorite from Saturday morning was Johnny Quest. I thought Race Banning was so cool!
-
I don't think I've seen another of my late '80s favorites the Transformers - the first couple seasons
-
While this wasn't a cartoon--any Dark Shadows fans out there?

-
Vavoom and his big mouth. I was teaching my daughter to drive a few weeks ago and told her I learned how to do turns and curves from Speed racer. Decelerate going in, accelerate coming out. I don't remember exactly how Speed worded it, but it helped. :rofl;

Both the original series and the 80's (I thnk) remake series were quite good.

At the time, I liked the 80's version, but seeing it today seems cheesy acting compared to the original.
