i've been told i look like michael chiklis, from "the shield" cause i'm short and balding.
-
I had a friend who always compared me to Kate Winslet -- not so much to her looks but to her personality - which I thought was such a great compliment -- I really adore her...
-
I don't know if it is a famous person or not but I think Beth looks like my future ex wife... :rofl;
-
What are you going to do with Christy? :rofl;
-
a long long time ago, my sisters said I looked like Ingrid ::)
-
What are you going to do with Christy? :rofl;
I haven't given it much thought yet...hmmmm...I think that would take care of itself.. :rofl; :rofl;
-
Oh Sluff... :urcrazy;
:-*
-
a long long time ago, my sisters said I looked like Ingrid ::)
You sure do.

Oh Sluffbunny :bunny: are you proposing to Beth?? - now I'm heartbroken (but not for long as I'm taking the cure for the W.O.R.K. virus suggested in another thread) :rofl; :rofl;

a lonnnnggg time ago, I was 17, I was told I looked like Meryl Streep. Mind you I was way skinnier and didn't wear glasses. I had to go home and look up who she was, but today she is my FAVORITE actress!
Okarol, you sure do look like Ingrid - no modelling? I did three shows and that was it - should have kept going, probably would have kept me in shape. I did a bridal fair, and two shows for the clothing store Casual Corners - one in the store and the other at a Marriot Hotel. Seems like so long ago.

:pics; C'mon ODAT - let's see your pic!
No modeling for me, I am a klutz! :oops;
-
Someone once told me I looked like Drew Barrymore. I don't see it.
-
After my parathyroid surgery I have been told I looked like the Bride of Frankenstein.
-
:lol;
Frankie likes it!
-
Who took that pic? We look good don't we?
-
Someone once told me I look like Hoss from Bonanza. I don't see it but thats what I've been told.
-
The hoss or the horse? :rofl;
-
The horses azz...hehe no HOSS. :rofl;
-
Hmmm...I don't see it...
-
HOSS: Pa, I think I'ma goin' in to town tonight
PA: Hoss, is that a purple boa you're wearin'?
HOSS: Sure is Pa...thought I'd try that new saloon tonight
PA: Good thing you're big and strong son...be careful
-
I wish I looked like somebody famous. However, if you let me pick who I wanted to look like, there are only TWO people that I'd want to be!!!! Both are cute, huggable, lovable...and if you squeeze them really hard, they shake uncontrollably!!! :-)

Maybe it's the hat! How's this?
-
okarol, that is perfect. I use to love watching Bonanza (probably giving away my age), and Sluff really does resemble him. Good one. :rofl;
-
Yep, he's a dead ringer!
-
sluff and hoss could pass as twins
-
That's perfect Karol!!!
:rofl; :rofl; :rofl;
I don't look like anyone famous but I'm sick and tired of people thinking I'm older than I am. I am 46 and I get "Do you get the senior discount"? or "How many grandchildren do you have"? or they let me in free for stuff. I'm going to start taking it. If they think I'm old enough for a discount then fine I'll take it.
-
my motto is if its for free, its for me,cause everything is dam expensive nowadays. :yahoo;
-
That's it Karol, all you need now is a beard on Hoss! :rofl;
-

I know how you feel. Had a waiter ask if we wanted the senior menu. I looked up at him and said "Neither of us qualify for that menu yet!" Insulting little twit! :Kit n Stik;
-
I have been told I look like Jack Nicholson I have a pair of sun glasses that are similar to his and when I wear them some people comment. I don't think so though....Boxman
-
A few years ago some cheeky b*****d said I look like Homer Simpson! I've avoided doghnuts ever since.
-
I don't know if Sluff looks like Hoss, but he does look like a picture of a guy at the post office. >:D
You keep eating those donuts Ken, I find Homer Simpson dishy. :)
-
Sluff you'll have to shave off the beard before I can make a proper judgement on the similarity between you and Hoss. :cowboy:
-
yes, when I was pregnant, blown up like a blow fish, because I had kidney problems and a student saw me at church and said
"You look just like Miss Piggy." ( I have long blond hair) :shy; I stayed home after that
-
awesome comparison photos of Sluff and Hoss okarol! I will have to scan the photos. I have a new copier/fax/scanner/printer and have only used the print function. Hopefully I'll figure it out! I was quite a good disco dancer too. Had this partner who was awesome. Just a friend. I should play some disco and start dancing. Maybe I could shed a few pounds! Can you say John Travolta? One night, it was early and I actually worked as a waitress at a disco club. So I went into the dj room and put on Staying Alive, got up on the dance floor and did the JT thing...arm up, arm down. lol It was hilarious. my bad... >:D
-
Two of my favorite pictures. Always wanted to wear that wedding dress, but alas, we eloped.
-
Beautiful! :2thumbsup;
-
very perty.
-
Look at those legs! Great pictures!
-
very perty.
You are the best! lol I can just hear Hoss say that now. Loved that show and him!
-
This is going around on facebook and reminded me of this thread:
This week is "Doppelgänger Week." During the week please change your profile picture to someone famous (actor, musician, athlete, etc.) you have been told you look like. Retro week was a blast last week so let's keep the fun going...post this to your profile and message your friends with it!
so... ever been told you look like someone famous/popular?
-
Since I was in high school and Gidget and the Flying Nun was on. Sally Field. Still do to this day.
-

I'd agree with that, based only on photos of you.
-
I'd love to be able to change my avitar... lol
But when I was 20 30 I looked just like Tony Perkins (Psycho)
middles aged it was Robert Goulet (though I doubt most of you will know who that was)
In old age it is Buddy Hackett
-
Dan....that cant be right can it...that you have changed soooooooooooooooo much ....
-
Tried to post in here before, but for some reason it didn't work. Oh well, here's another try.
When I was in college (back when dinosaurs ruled the earth :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; or the early 1970's) people told me looked like Rob Reiner. At that time "All In The Family" was popular and a first run Tv program. Did I? Wel we had the same first name, same hair, same moustach, and even dressed alike.
Ah, but we don't look anything alike now. For one thing I have more hair :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; No beard and I am younger.
Sorry to put that awful picture in your heads. Think happy thoughts, picture plesant things...it'll go away.
Dan you know Elvis didn't like Robert Goulet? Ruined Tv's because of it.
-
For some unknown reason to me, when I was slightly younger......ok a lot younger, people thought I looked like Mel Gibson......mainly drunk women :rofl;
-
Xbandito, Ah we look a bit alike, now. I feel sorry for you man. I'm serious, not joking.
-
Around the time I first met my husband, my nickname was 'scully' because of the character on X-files - I was told I resembled her, and one day I wore a pinstripe suit to work and that was that.
My other two primary ones - Kate Winslet and Drew Barrymore - have already been mentioned by others. I especially heard the Drew Barrymore one frequently. At the corporate show where I met Gwyn there was a woman who would say I looked so much like Lisa-Marie Presley that she could not bring herself to call me anything but Lisa. (My name is not Lisa. I just smiled and backed away from her.) My husband said that I reminded him of Cyndi Lauper - not so much in appearance but personality and the way I carried myself? I am still puzzling over that one.
Two that I am not really familiar with: a girlfriend said I looked just like Clara Bow and a date said I looked shockingly like one of the Gish actresses, but I cannot remember Lillian or Dorothy.
I am one of these people that others constantly claim they have met before, worked with before, seen before. I used to field a lot of bizarre questions on this topic.
-
Me too Cariad, people are always telling me they know me, and I am lost. But many many years ago I was told I looked like Goldie Hawn. ( laugh in ) Maybe because my bangs needed trimming, LOL.
-
Truthfullly Phil I was a dead ringer for Tony Perkins. I've been chased for autographs people thinking I was him.
Goulet I never saw that. That's what the priest said. He always said I sounded like him (which my "crooning" voice was similar.
The Buddy Hackett thing was after I started gaining weight and had the big fat cheeks.
Now after a year of dialysis I guess I looked like one of those dead actors on Law and Order or something.
There's a picture of me on facebook from August and another from Dec. 30, 2009. I aged 40 years during that time it seems.
-
Do you know I have never once been told I look like any one! I'd never thought of that before. There's a thing I could write in the 10 things you don't know about me thread...
-
For those who didn't know what young Rob Reiner looked liked and me back in the early 70's
-
Long ago, when my hair was darker, several people told me I looked like Sandra Bullock. Though I don't see it, I'll take it as a compliment. ;D
-
More than 40 years ago when my hair was very short, my friends told me I looked like Julie Andrews!
-
Me too Cariad, people are always telling me they know me, and I am lost.
:rofl; Yes, it's quite confusing for all when it happens.
I never thought my husband looked like anyone until I saw Shrek. Gwyn and Shrek share many of the same facial expressions, especially when Shrek is aggravated, he looks just like Gwyn trying to be annoyed with the kids, but failing. Then we saw Shrek II and it was as if Gwyn had served as a model for the human Shrek.
Gwyn does not take this as any kind of compliment. :waiting;
-
Ha ha Cariad. That's a classic. I'll always think of him when I see Shrek now. You'll have to put a photo of your better half on now!
-
As requested, Hanify.
-
Hee hee
-
OMG, Cariad...he does resemble Shrek...(whom I find very attractive...)
-

:rofl; Looney, you're so sweet to say. Thankfully, Gwyn has a great sense of humor about himself. Not every guy could take it in stride when his wife reports "I kinda let it slip on IHD that you look like Shrek." :rofl;
-
Me in college. Do I look like Rob Reiner did then?
-
Yes, I can see it....Rob or Rob?
-
Oh, yes, Rob, I can totally see it. Although I seem to remember that character was much scruffier looking than you. Great pic!
-

I don't know wether to say thanks or what. Thanks for the not as scruffy part. I was looking for a picture of myself and my wife (now, not then...Isn't tht confusing? :rofl; :rofl;) when we were dating back then to post. Maybe, if I find it I'll post it and one of wht we look like now in the IHD family pictures section when I find it.
-
a long long time ago, my sisters said I looked like Ingrid ::)
I think this thread started before I joined IHD but Wow!! you certainly do look like her on that photo and just as pretty now! :guitar: :guitar: :guitar:
