The Living Donor is Up and Running!
National Kidney Foundation of West Texas News Release
February 26, 2008
Yes, you can be a living donor.
In fact, Texas has 5 transplant hospitals and they are in cities close to all of us! They are located in Lubbock, El Paso, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio.
26 million people have Chronic Kidney Disease and don't know it.
400,000 are on Dialysis machines right now.
And did you know 50% of transplants come from living donors. That is right, you can be a donor for a loved one, friend, or a stranger, and still live a strong healthy life and help someone else.
If you would like to become a donor and find out more about what's happening where you live call your local National Kidney Foundation of West Texas office at 432-570-4880.
Remember the Living Donor is Up and Running!
