Title: Annual inter-religious celebration in NY
Post by: okarol on February 14, 2008, 06:35:36 PM
Those in the New York City area might want to know that the "Transplant Recipients International Organization" ("TRIO") is having their annual inter-religious celebration for recipients, living donors, donor families and transplant professionals on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at St. Patrick's Cathedral, 5th Ave. and 50th Street, Manhattan, New York, from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m.
The celebration usually includes song, prayer, scripture, brief talks by recipients, living donors, donor families and medical professionals, candle-lighting,  and a token gift (a flower usually) to all the donor families and living donors present.
No tickets or reservations are required.
They also print and distribute a booklet with the program and a large number of "Thank you" notes where recipients can briefly express (50 words or less) their thoughts toward their donors, living or deceased. It is not necessary to attend the celebration to submit a "thank you".
The notes should be sent soon to: geri@bronxdesign.com , or by surface mail to: The Bronx design Group, Att. TRIO, 2914 Westchester Avenue, Bronx NY 10461.
