Ok everyone, I'd like to know what people like to eat that most people never even heard of, i know we all have to "watch our diets" BULLCRAP, lol, i know we all have our own little naughty pleasures, well forget about those for a sec and think about the ones you like to eat, lol, j/k. OK, i love french fries dipped in chocolate shake or Wendy's frosty, my niece likes pickles and peanut butter, nope, she is not pregnant, but i just wanted to share that with you so you get the idea of what i am talking about. Has anyone ever had apple and red devil hot sauce? come on, i know you have something that you consider "different" please share with me......
-
Wendy's frosty, Wendy's chili and french fries... a killer combination. Dip the hot fries into the frosty, eat, then dip a fry into the chili. Back and forth. Yummy!
-
ooooh, yummmmmm, be right back guys, i'm goin' to Wendy's ;)
-
I just got back from a Wendy's run. I was good and had a chicken sandwhich (and fries. ssshhhhh! Don't tell anyone.) Drools over the biggie sodas. Oh I wish!
Katherine
-
HOW DO YOU DO IT??? where do you get your willpower, lol, i would've ordered me a kids meal so i can get the fries and a frosty, damn, have you ever gone to the mcdonalds website or taco bell website and created your own meal? then it calculates what you just ate, gives you the run down on calories, sodium, fats and stuff like that, it has made a big difference in what i choose to eat at the restraunts that is for sure. DAMN THEM BIG MACS, DAMN THEM TO HELL I SAY...... ok, maybe not the big macs, but the freaken calories it has, lol
-
Ooh love the frosty/fry combo!
What do I eat that is odd....? I like fries dipped in a mayo and ketchup mixed together. That's sort of odd. Oh and you know that canned cranberry sauce? The jelly kind that comes out in a can-shaped blob? Well I'll slice it and eat it just like that. YUM!
-
http://www.titostacos.com/
'nuff said. >:D Seriously this place is a SoCal landmark. The place is always PACKED!

"The only thing better than a Tito Taco is two."

;D
-
OK, *speaking slowly* if there is anything you like to eat that is out of the ordinary, what is it??? If you dont have anything then that is cool.
-
Hey Epoman, i heard that in SoCal there is a place called Po Folks or something like that, that is supposed to be off the hook, have you ever eaten there? i remember eating a place called Tommy Burgers, messy, but mmm mmmm good, I checked out the Tito's Taco website, cheap prices, no wonder they are always packed, you can feed an entire family for cheap, usually dives like that up their prices when they know they got a good thing, i am glad to see they didnt, i think that makes the customers return too. How far from Wilimington is that, or Long Beach?
-
I haven't had it for awhile, but I like cottage cheese and ketchup.
-
Well there ya go Rerun, that is a definet odd combo, thank you for sharing that, i've had fruit with my cottage cheese, but never ketchup, sounds interesting.......
-
I have three different ones, they are really all the same just slightly different ingredients. I like to take a bowl dump some peanut butter in it and pour pancake syrup all over it. Mix it up and eat it. There are several different peanut butters and syrup out there, but I like Chunky Skippy peanut butter, and Ms. Butterworth syrup. The other combos that are good is peanut butter and honey, or peanut butter and chocolate syrup. All the ingredients vary in amount based on personal tastes. You can also find low fat, and sugar free versions of some of these items so it's possible for most people to eat. Just mix it up, taste, and change from there. I warn you none of these combos look very appetizing once mixed but they are wonderful to the tastebuds.
-
Just thought of one more. Bread that has been torn up into pieces with turkey gravy (from a can) poured on top. It usually around 6 slices for 1 can.
-
Del Taco French Fries, right out of the hot oil, with a dash of salt on them and ketchup.
MMMMMMMMM! These are crinkle cut fries. I love them!
Katherine
-
Woah, now ya see what i'm sayin' It's amazing the different taste buds we all have. Hawkeye, my brother in law asked me once before about eating peanut butter on pancakes and i thought he was just teasing me, but i guess it really must be good huh? (mixing pancake batter) ok, i am willing to try (just a smidge) but i will let you know what i think. Kitkatz, are Del Taco fries better than McDonalds? i always eat the macho nacho's, lol, now i'm gonna have to try me some fries

Not the packcake batter, that's just plain silly. ;D Peanut butter and Pancake SYRUP.

i know not the pancake batter, ewww, lol, he spreads the peanut butter on the pancakes, then puts the syrup. have you tried it that way?
-
I put peanut butter and syrup on my pancakes and waffles! And the PB and syrup have to be ice cold!

Po' Folks? well....it's ok but not off the shizzle ma nizzle. ;D
Tommy Burgers yeah their the BEST if you want a chili burger. I'm telling you TITO'S TACO'S is orgasmic. Tito's is about 20 minutes from the L.B.C.
I LOVE eating out, I have eating at EVERY popular place you can imagine in SoCal. My wife and I try to find a NEW place we have not tried yet to eat at least once a week.

have you ever been to Midevil Times, i think that is how it is spelled, or is it Medevil, where they have those guys on horses, that place is cool, you eat with your fingers, and you get a show,

Of course a couple of times, I'm telling you if it's a cool or good place, I've been there. 8)
- Epoman
-
i've been there once and i would love to go there again, the biggest thrill was meeting the horses after the show, beautiful creatures... What are those chicks called that bring the food, i know they are not "whores" lol, but they are called something, not french maids, or maidens, ugh, its gonna drive me nuts
-
The fries are much, much better than McDonald's. MickeyD's pales in comparison. And the chili cheese fries. MMMMMMMMM! Make sure you get freshly cooked fries. The old ones taste nasty.
My hubby puts mandarin oranges in oatmeal in the mornings. UCK!

WENCHES,,,, THEY ARE CALLED WENCHES, WHEEEW, had to call my brother in Long Beach but i got my answer, lol

WENCHES,,,, THEY ARE CALLED WENCHES, WHEEEW, had to call my brother in Long Beach but i got my answer, lol
I was about to tell you that, Or you could have looked here: http://www.medievaltimes.com/aboutourshow.htm

I would love to go to Midevil Times. Especially on my birthday. They will give you a free meal with their coupon. Any offers? My birthday is December 31, so it would be fun! But they probably would not honor the coupon. Oh well. I think it would be fun, but the drive home on New Years Eve might be a little dangerous.
My dad used to make sandwiches out of bologna and peanut butter with a little mustard added. I could not watch him make it much less eat it. And he would take the peanut butter jar and chocolate cake. A little peanut butter on the fork, then into the cake. The man could eat!
My sister mixes spaghetti and salad together in the same bowl. Weird!
I have to have my food in separate areas on the plate and I hate it when the veggies drip all over the plate. I ave been known to get up and drain my plate.
I think Del Taco French Fries are calling my name today.

Wendy's frosty, Wendy's chili and french fries... a killer combination. Dip the hot fries into the frosty, eat, then dip a fry into the chili. Back and forth. Yummy!
OOOHHHHhhh,I love this combo! My favorite is McD's strawberry shakes with fries dipped in them.
(shhh...I am a saltaholic.)
My "odd food" is a sandwich made of hard salami and peanut butter. Mmmm.
-
i know not the pancake batter, ewww, lol, he spreads the peanut butter on the pancakes, then puts the syrup. have you tried it that way?
I haven't tried this combo. I'm not big on pancakes.
-
Here is another odd one I used to eat a lot. For this to work best you have to have the bologna that has the red thing around the outside that you have to peel off. Take a slice of the bologna toss it on a plate and put a piece of American cheese in the center of it. You can use other cheeses to but this is how I did it when I was a kid. Take the plate put it in the microwave and cook it until the edges of the bologna curl up making a bowl, and the cheese in the center melts. Let it cool off a bit and eat.
-
OH MAAAAAN HAWKEYE, THAT SOUNDS SCRUMDIDDLYUMPTIOUS, the kids i used to babysit did that all the time, but they would just get a chunk a cheddar, put it on a plate and let it melt until the cheese got hard, it looked disgusting but tasted so good, it's a no wonder my heart is still beating, (and thank God it is) lol
Ginger Cookie, SALAMI AND PEANUT BUTTER??? isnt it amazing how creative we can be with our food, who could imagine... (sigh) i am sooooo hungry now, lol

My Dad use to make peanut butter and bacon sandwiches. I would love to have one right now. Ymmmmm
-
Pizza sauce and bananas. My kids swore by it! Dunk the banana into the jar of pizza sauce.
I could never make my self eat it.
Banana and mayonnaise sandwiches. MMMMMMMM! I love it. It has to be Miracle Whip, not real mayo.
Katherine
-
When I eat breakfast in the morning, I pour maple syrup over my entire plate...bacon, eggs, hashbrowns/homefries, sausage, toast, fruit...anything!
-
ohhh yessss, syrup over sausage and pancakes, uh oh, now i want to go to IHOP.... Has anyone put ketchup in their eggs??? UGH, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mustard on eggs with toast is good.

That's not odd! That's YUMMY.
And of course you put ketchup on eggs, Goofynina!!

Ketchup mixed in mashed potatoes? Mmmm. Think about it, you dip fries in ketchup.Thius is especially good when the taters are sitting next to a meatloaf.

I really like penut butter and celery, but you have to spread the penut butter really think down the middle of the celery and then sprinkle salt on. Mmmm :)
-
mmmmm, i like that too, and mayonnaise or cottage cheese on celery, *thinking* "do i have celery?" Thats the one thing wrong with this thread, whever someone says something, thats what i want to eat...AYE YI YI,,,,
-
Or peanut butter, cheese and onion in a sandwich. :P
-
Ok fine, here are my receipes for fast snacks they may not be odd, but some may think they are.
Celery and cream cheese with Lawry's® Seasoned Salt, OH MAN that is GOOOOOOD!!!!!!! You can buy the seasoning in any grocery store in the states. This makes a great horderve. Cut into 2inch pieces, spread cream cheese, sprinkle season salt ALOT! 8)
OR
6-8 Cucumbers, 10 Lemons (not limes), Salt, Chili Powder (any chili powder brand will do). Cut cucumbers into 1/2 inch think slices, place into a bowl, squeeze the juice (watch the seeds) of about 10 lemons into the bowl. Add alot of salt ALOT!!! then add alot of Chili power ALOT!!! put lid on bowl, shake, place in fridge 1/2 hour. This also makes a great horderve Take out, Enjoy! (goofynina is my people (mexican), she will know this receipe, right goofynina?") ;)
Oh the last step is for the men here, if you have a wife or girlfriend have them do all of the work. ;D
Damn NOW I want some "pepino con lemon e chile".

OMG, EPOMAN, I just made that for my hubby, minus the chili powder on his but you better believe it was on mine. You can also get chunks of fresh pineapple, melon, cucumber, mango and make yourself like a fruit cup with the same ingredients, just watch for the friggin potassium...
never had the celery and cream cheese but you know i am going to be trying it, lol,
And i prefer to do all the work cuz you know what kind of freaken mess my hubby would make just peeling a damn pepino (cucumber) lol, not to mention the blood from cutting himself with the child safe peeler. (i think he does it on purpose) So i just do it myself and save all that drama
-
You missed out on some good eatin' my friend, i am sure there will be more BBQ's, just think, FOOTBALL SEASON IS COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARE YA READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?????
-
How about making a cheese quesadilla and putting Doritos in the middle of it? I made that the other night. Pretty yummy!
-
I knew a guy who put ketchup on tuna. Then I thought that was weird and I went to work and a co-worker put mustard on his tuna ..
-
mmmmmmmmmmm a quesadilla, now THAT sounds good, and wash it down with like 10 binders, lol,
-
Used to be a huge fan of hummus. I used to have like 4 different kinds at any given time in the fridge!
Garlic, roasted pepper, sun dried tomato, and classic ... oh so many choices.
-
I like to put sour cream on my waffle and top it off with brown sugar..mm mm good! In grade school they made something called "snow pudding". It was cottage cheese mixed with apple sauce...other kids were grossed out but I just ate theirs!
-
I put chips (doritos are the best) on my lunchmeat sandwiches! That's the best.
Corn and cheese ice cream! I didn't create it, but it's one of the oddest things I found so far. It was in a Filipino store. It was actually not bad, would have been better without the frozen pieces of cheese though.
-
I love Doritos on meat sandwiches. MMMMMMM! I also put french fries into burritos at Del Taco.
-
Damn I'm getting hungry.
-
All my friends and family think this is weird, but I like cornflakes or rice krispies in my butties. :P
-

I wonder if she means this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacon_butty ???
-
I found a link that said a butty is a sandwich, and a chip butty is french fries between two pieces of buttered bread with tomato sauce. The link said that chip butties are delicious, but I'd have to try one to believe it!
-
ummm, i think anything that has the word "butt" in it i'd think twice before eating it ;D j/k
-
I'm with you, goofynina, I'd have to think twice about eating it myself. And, let me tell you, I had to be pretty careful looking it up on the internet. You want to be careful doing a search with the word "butt" in it. And it didn't help any to add English or British in front of it, either!
Wow! You just can't believe some of the stuff that's on the internet!
-

:D :D That is why I just wait til Epoman looks it up ;) It is scary what some of the search engines bring up as results ;)
-
Sorry, forgot you weren't british, but then most british people don't know what it is either, (especially southeners!)
It is a sandwich, anything slapped between two slices of bread, hot or cold! And yes, chip (french fries) butties are the best, with oodles of mayo! ;D
-
Pancakes, waffles, and french toast all need lots of peanut butter at my house. My hubby thought that was crazy when he first met me, but now he occasionally does it too. When you're having sausage with breakfast, you have to swirl the sausage in the melted peanut butter and syrup on the plate.
Even better - Waffles with peanut butter, chocolate chips, fresh strawberries and then maple syrup. OINK!
The kids I used to babysit for used to grate sharp cheddar into a bowl, nuke it until it melted into a greasy puddle, and eat it plain. Ewwwww.
I had a chocolate fondue party once where everyone ended up dunking cheese in the chocolate. Sounds horrible, but wasn't bad. (I still prefer fruit.)
My fav is granny smith apple slices sprinkled with salt and dipped in peanut butter.
-
Doritos and miraclewhip sandwich. No meat, just like that. Mhmmmmm Mmmm
Also, Cheetos on top of a pizza. Oh god, I'm so hungry now after reading throu all this. :lol;
Doritos and cream cheese. Thats a great snack.
I love Dairy Queens' onion rings. Dipping the o. r. in the DQ gravy.
-
wow and here I thought tuna and ketchup or tuna and mustard was odd :P I am learning that maybe I am wrong as there are much odder combinations in the world that exsist ;) lol
I might try some of these one day .. when they are allowed on my diet :P

Not sure if I've posted this yet but Joe likes several weird things...
spaghetti and bologna sandwich
spaghetti with hotdogs cut up
hamburgers with fried egg and gravy
anything with spam
actually anything involving spam, hotdogs, bologna (the dietician hates us LOL)
We make lumpia which is a Filipino spring roll (fried) and aside from the normal fillings, I've tried...
chicken and sauce
peanut butter and banana
ham and cheese
I've also tried corn and cheese ice cream (might have already posted that one, but it is GOOD) and avocado ice cream (which SUCKS)

-
Helloooooo Sara, always nice to meet a fellow Spamian, i just love that stuff :bow;
Spam is great stuff and very versatile as an ingredient. I just got my wife to try it for the first time not to long ago and she found she liked it. Try pan frying it and mixing it in with scrambled eggs along with some onions. Mmmmm.
-
I love a Spamburger, fry some thick slices up, some tomatoes, onions and avocado's, or putting it in Mac n' cheese, hell, i even love it raw... :urcrazy;
or in a Spamwich, or.... the list goes on and on and on.... 8)

That is one food I miss so much from when I lived in the Philippines- and Banana lumpia is awesome as well- I have missed them so very much. Lumpia is so much better then an eggroll...man you made me hungry for them!!! I also miss the street hotdogs sold on a stick- and no- I probably don't want to know how they are made!! I have been lucky enough to get lumpia every now and then, but those hotdogs I have missed for 30 years.

Did you ever try balut?

Some odd foods people eat in oz is kangaroo and witchety grub. ;D
-
Some odd foods people eat in oz is kangaroo and witchety grub. ;D
Manda May - That grub is disgusting! Please tell me you don't eat that!
-
YUK! no way but i know a few people who have tried it and like it.... eww
"Witchetty grubs are the small, white larvae of the ghost moth, which is native to Australia. They are dug out of the trunks and roots of gum trees during the summertime, and although the very though of eating grubs may be frowned upon by Europeans, witchetty grubs have been an essential part of the Aboriginal diet for centuries."
Serving Suggestions -
- Witchetty grubs are traditionally eaten live and raw. Their meat is rich in protein and makes for a highly nutritious snack if you’re tramping through the bush. Raw witchetties have a subtle, slightly sweet flavour and a liquid center.
-Barbecued, witchetties are often eaten as an appetizer. Barbecued witchetties taste quite like chicken or prawns with peanut sauce. :o
- these days it is possible to buy tins of witchetty soup in supermarkets across Australia. (YUM YUM)
-
ugh
-
Did you ever try balut?
no- and i know what it is!!! I need that barf smiley lol
-
I was watching a show one time where this guy traveling in OZ was given a wichetty to try- and he said the cooked ones taste like warm almond butter- we have a similar grub here in florida, although i dont know if people eat them, every time I see one I think -'warm and almondy, buttery' grosses me right out!!

-
No i do not eat pork BUTT!! :lol;
Ohhh Susie i just realized something... i eat pork bum cheeks :lol; I have just been informed that Italian prosciutto is the butt and thigh of the pig.!!
Being from an Italian heritage its very popular in our diet.
"The Italian word for ham, usually referring to the raw cured hams of Parma. Though once impossible to obtain in the United States due to USDA regulations, fine prosciuttos from Italy and Switzerland are now being imported. These hams are called prosciutto crudo. Cooked hams are called prosciutto cotto. Prosciutto is best when sliced paper thin served with ripe figs or wrapped around grissini."
-
Behold, my pickled pigs foot,
LOL man those are juicy!
I love pickles, but cannot imagine eating those.
They look obscene! :lol;
-
I made a sandwich of white bread, peanut butter & sliced cherry peppers & was suprised how good it was.
I think you can put peanut butter or mayonaise on just about anything & it works.
Another good combo is cottage cheese & apple butter. Don't stir it, just put some of each on your fork to eat it.
Also love grits with butter & sugar.
Years ago I used to eat pickled pigs feet, I wonder why I liked them. Now I don't even like looking at them.
Grubs, worms, ants, etc. I'll pass on them.

My odd food combination is cottage cheese and barbecue sauce. It is something I did alot in the past but not so much lately. The taste is actually pretty good but everyone I know doesn't think it is such a great idea.
I also like to use barbecue sauce to flavor things like hamburger meat and Thanksgiving stuffing. When I make it there is always some in there as long as I don't get caught adding it.

Behold, my pickled pigs foot,
That is enough to make me a vegetarian :-X :-X :-X

Also love grits with butter & sugar.
That is just wrong. :lol;

I'm with you on the BBQ sauce, as long as it's sweet, except on cottage cheese. I eat cottage cheese with bacon bits. YUM.

What is wrong with grits, butter and sugar? Take the grits, make them tight grits, slice them and pan fry them, then put butter and syrup on them! MMMM!
-
??? What are grits?
-
Grits are small broken grains of corn. They were first produced by Native Americans centuries ago. They made both "corn" grits and "hominy" grits. Falls Mill produces "corn" grits.
Corn Grits
Falls Mill mills locally grown whole white hybrid corn. The corn is dried to a 14% moisture content, then each kernel is cleaned with forced air. The kernels of grain are run through the mill stone where they are ground to a certain texture and then sifted through two wire mesh screens. The three products sorted are white corn meal, white corn grits and the bran that pops off. There is a fine bran still in the grits product. This bran will never soften up with cooking. Depending on personal preference, the bran can be left in or removed by rinsing the grits before cooking.
Yummy!
Hominy
Is made from field corn that is soaked in lye water (potash water in the old days) and stirred over the next day or two until the entire shell or bran comes loose and rises to the top. The kernel itself swells to twice its original size. After the remaining kernels have been rinsed several times, they are spread to dry either on cloth or screen dryers.
How Corn Grits are made at Falls Mill
The first step in the production of our whole corn grits is the purchase of hybrid white corn from a local farmer. We pull a small grain wagon to his storage bin and auger out about 125 bushels of corn at a time. We weigh the corn and then bring it to the mill for unloading and cleaning. We auger it from the wagon into the mill building, where it is deposited in a floor bin. An elevator, running off our water wheel, picks up the corn a bucket at a time and carries it to the second floor grain cleaner. The cleaner has two shaker screens and a bottom blast fan, which operate to remove stalk, cob, unwanted seeds, cockleburs, and other field trash from the corn. The cleaned corn then drops into a basement auger, which moves it to a second elevator, where it is again carried upstairs and may be conveyed to one of four grain storage bins (usually the grinding bin above the millstones). It takes about five hours for us to unload and clean the 125 bushels.
When ready to mill, we belt up the millstones, fan suction system, and grits separator, and step up the speed of the water wheel, which drives all the machinery through a series of gears, flats belts, line shafts, and pulleys. The millstones we use are a set of 42-inch horizontal granite buhrs manufactured by the R.D. Cole Company of Newnan, Georgia, around the turn of the century. The granite was quarried at the Esopus Quarry in New York state. The millstones rotate about 125 revolutions per minute, and the upper (runner) stone weighs more than 1,500 pounds. Corn is fed into the stones via the hopper and shoe, from the upstairs storage bin. The stones are separated wider than when milling pure corn meal to obtain a coarser product. However, the milled product is a mixture of cracked corn, grits, and corn meal, so must be separated in a sifter (grits separator). As it comes off the stones, it falls into a pipe where the fan suction carries it to the second floor and drops it into the sifter. The corn meal is first sifted through a #20 screen and drops into a bagging bin on the first floor. The coarser product travels over this screen and grits drop through a #12 screen next, into a second bin below. The cracked corn tails off the end of the sifting drum and we regrind it to obtain more grits. The final yield is roughly 55% corn meal, 40% grits, and 5% light bran. The grits, however, will still contain a little bran or chaff. This is usually skimmed off prior to cooking.
No lye products are used in the processing of Falls Mill's grits.

Every dialysis night, when he gets home around 9pm, I make Jack, my husband, three eggs, buttered grits, and two toasts. this is his favorite meal!!! I always get a dollop of the grits that I eat with Equal-he says that is a wrong thing to do to grits!!!
-
I tried grits when I came to the US. I hated it. Heph liked it, but I thought it was like milky sand goo!
-
Could you compare grits to porridge? They sound odd. How do you cook them? :-\
-
Grits are not meant to be sweet. Next you're going to say you put sugar in your cornbread! :lol;
-
Of course I put sugar in the cornbread. It's supposed to be sweet.
-
brother always put extra sugar in the cornbread, yummo :thumbup;

:secret; You guys are weird. What is cornbread?

Some people add corn for extra taste

Cornbread is great, especially when you make it in a cast iron skillet. Southerners (cornbread snobs) do NOT put sugar in their cornbread, but I like it either way. I really like it with whole corn kernels in it, makes it chewy and oh so good. *drool*
-
YES!!! some sugar in the cornbread, and then eat it with butter and honey, talk about good :clap;

I know a lot of Italians who call pasta sauce, "gravy". Kind of tosses me for a loop when they start talking about pizza or pasta with gravy on it. :o
I call pasta sauce "gravy" I grew up right outside of Boston and everyone in my town called it that. I laugh when I watch the Soprano's and they call it gravy too. It's definitely an Italian thing (which I am). It does throw people off sometimes when I slip and call it gravy. They think I am putting brown gravy on my pasta. Oh and we never called it pasta, everything was macaroni! ;D

I love any time of luncheon meat with mustard. I love turkey & mustard, salami & mustard, you name it. It toally grosses my husband out.
I also love ketchup on my fish.
I love chips in any type of sandwich
We have an ice cream/restaurant chain here in Mass, called Friendly's. When we go there I get my favorite: black raspberry ice cream, with peanut butter sauce & hot fudge and some whipped cream. Again, Rob finds this disgusting. Well, they just recently came out with a PB&J sundae and it's my favorite dessert there, minus the hot fudge! I have never met another person who liked this combo, so I was really happy! :yahoo;

I'm a big fan of Grits. One box can last you for weeks and they're easy to prepare. I like the individual servings because you just have to heat up a cup of water and pour it into the bowl with the Grits. A little butter, a little salt and you're set.
I'm also a huge fan of dipping my french fries in tartar sauce. When I get fish & chips it's the best.
And when I'm at the end of my groceries, sliced pickle sandwiches with mustard and butter.

Have you ever ate mush? Fried cornmeal mush. Can be purchased in a block in dairy case. Sliced and fried in bacon fat and served with maple syrup. That is how my dad used to eat it for breakfast. Think it is just another form of grits or palenta.
