The regional manager of NxStage is going to be in my area Friday and has invited me to observe a training session. I am still holding at 15%, so know it will be awhile before I need the training. Would anyone recommend going to this now, just to get an idea of all that is involved? Or am I jumping the gun? I keep trying to learn everything. She has emailed me several times and sent me lots of information. This all started with my mammogram and the tech---small world. Thanks for your opinions. You know I value everyone of them!

Hi Paris!
Unless you have a schedule conflict - why not? You're not signing on the dotted line for anything, and seeing the machine in action will just familiarize you with the process. On the flip side, it will be a reminder that dialysis may be in your future. (still hoping that something comes through transplant wise) When the time comes, you'll be an informed consumer.
Or, if you have a conflict, you can sit with me while I dialyize at Dollywood!
(BTW I held out at 15% for a few years)
XOXOXO
Anna

Absolutely.. sit in on the training, knowledge is power. A person can never know too much. If you are at 15%, unfortunately you are playing the waiting game and I know how hard that is to do. I hope you never need that knowledge. :grouphug;

I would have loved to have seen how home hemo works before I actually needed it...so if you have the time, I'd say yes, check it out!
