Title: Flyball class starts Sunday
Post by: Deanne on February 01, 2008, 02:27:52 PM
This should be hilarious! I got an email message today with the class list. I love the mix of dogs:

- Great Dane
- deaf mini-Aussie
- Sheltie
- German Shorthair
- Lab
- 3-legged BC-mix (runs agility)
- Mini-doxie (leaps small buildings in a single bound) -- this is mine! When I called to registe for class, they questioned whether she'd be able to jump a 7-inch hurdle and I responded by explaining that I had to shoo her off a 2-foot high table.

Have fun.  My border collie absolutely loves fly ball and agility.  He just has very little tolerance for dogs that don't take it as seriously as he does.   He's a little intense.

Bella rocked at her first class. The instructors looked a bit doubtful when I arrived. They didn't really believe me when I said jumping a 7-inch hurdle wouldn't be a problem. She's only 8-inches tall & her legs are about 3 inches long. It only took a few seconds for her to prove them wrong and within a minutes, she was running down the course, over four hurdles, to get to the ball I was squeaking as a lure. I think flyball will be her "thing." She was a tired dog last night, which made me very happy!

A tired dog is a beautiful thing (and absolutely adorable, too). Glad you two had fun and she proved the doubters wrong!
