Title: Leg discomfort
Post by: redz812 on February 01, 2008, 07:04:22 AM
Hi All,

Recently over the last week or so my hubby has been having leg pain while trying to sleep. This seems to only happen while he is in bed, not when he is sitting in a chair. We wonder if he is taking off too much fluid during home hemo. Any thoughts or similar experience? Thanks

I do in-center but ya, for me the first area I cramp up is my legs when to much fluid is removed. Has he gained any weight to the point where he needs to adjust his dry weight up slightly?...Boxman

Boxman, thanks for the reply. I think he will he doing that gradually on his subsequent treatments. He is in the hosp right now. Yesterday, for some unknown reason, he got a high fever when coming off home hemo (101.3). He is super diligent about being sterile and the ER docs couldn't figure out what happened. So they admitted him to give him iv antibotics. I am waiting to hear if they will release him today.

Everything has been going so good over the last 6 mos but in the last 2 weeks with the leg problems and now this unknown origin of fever, we have been kinda down. It isn't good to lose sleep.

Again, thanks for your reply and I wish you well.....

Janet

Yea i go to a Pain specialist because of my leg pains.. It happens to me when I sleep or lay down as well, usually because the fluid goes out of my legs  due to the fact that im laying down and when I have less fluid in my legs they hurt this may be his problem..
