He's a blood match and he's 3 of 6 antigen match! :yahoo; They also mixed our bloods together and they didn't clot! Now he waits until I've completed my evaluation and then they'll admit him for the remainder of his testing. I have my cardiology work-up tomorrow afternoon. Then all that's left is meeting with the transplant surgeon and getting an ultrasound of my kidneys! :clap;
What other tests will be performed on my brother? 24-urine, sonogram of kidneys - whatelse? :thx;

Hope the balance of his screening comes out good for you. :grouphug;

YEA!!!!! Congrats!!! I know my donor had lots and lots of tests..... she was rejected in the end cause we found out she was borderline diabetic.... I guess it was a good thing she went through all those tests. This was at Baylor.
My new match (2 out of 6 antigen) had to do initial blood work, now has to do more blood work and an abdominal catscan and that is all. She does also have to get her primary physician to clear her for surgery.
So, what I am saying is...... it depends on the hospital you are using.
Good luck :bandance;

Well, my brother has made it through the first of two days of testing (hospital admission)! They said that if they found something on day one (today) they would not keep him overnight. I got a call from him a couple of hours ago and he's done with his testing for the day, but he's NOT GOING HOME! YEA!!! The only thing he'll be doing tonight is continuing his 24-hour urine collection. He had an EKG and chest x-ray today, as well as tons of blood draws. He was getting his blood drawn every 30 minutes until 12:15 p.m. I think they started around 9 or 9:30 a.m. I got there a little after 11 a.m. I felt so bad for him. He's not used to being stuck so much! :lol; I get "stuck" weekly. He usually gets stuck with a needle MAYBE once a year! Poor thing. But he was a trooper!!! I'm so proud of him.
He met with the surgeon, a diabetes specialist and a nephrologist. I think the only person he had not met with yet was the social worker. He/she may have come within the last two hours. I'm so excited! :clap;
