I want to start out by saying this is a great site, I have been lurking on and off a couple of years and the info has become invaluable. My dad will be starting dialysis hopefully in a month. He has been, for the most part, quite stubborn about this to the point I fear is too late. I do tend to his needs such as transportation, etc...but I will have to step up a little more in this situation as I don't think my mother will be able to grasp the magnitude of the Nxstage home treatment. I will be bombarding you with questions in all topics so please bear with me.

Bring on all the questions you have Caregiver66. Welcome to ihatedialysis.com
If you have been lurking since the site has been around then you know how tight knit we have become. Thanks for taking time out of your schedule to introduce yourself. Remember being a caregiver can be trying at times but make sure you take time out for yourself.

I am also stubborn! When my last transplant was failing I waited a whole lot longer than my doctor wanted. My Creatinine was off the charts! I was real sick for a while and got sick to my stomach on dialysis for a while but I eventually got better.

Welcome. Remember your Dad has to make his own decisions as to what he wants out of treatment.
